I think for its price, like the revious DAC, it doesn't have an amp. For IEMs you wouldn't need them anyway. Only for the power hungry headphones.

I can't recalled if chchyong mentioned any output parameters in terms of voltage etc.. It may be able to drive small ear/headphones but I think a proper amp is needed to realise it's full potential.

Well I think it should. The pricing and the output it supports suggests that. Plus it uses a Wolfson, which is pretty decent.
