This is MUCH better than the previous PCM2704 USB DAC you bringing. I like the idea PCM2706 convert USB to I2S, then feed to WM8501 which itself don't need any opamp.

Would be better if it have RCA out though.

RCA out, now that's something. I wanted to compare it to my modded X-Fi Surround 5.1 USB when it arrive

I would rather take the DAC, its a much better upgrade than buying cables. Furthermore the cables costs significantly more than this DAC + proper casing. I agree with LittleGhost, cables are the last thing to upgrade

He did say a comparison between this and Ordnance DAC, so this wins by miles. Its not like Ordnance DAC have dedicated headphone out in the first place. I don't know his/her equipment so maybe he/she already have dedicated headamp because no way Ordnance DAC could drive HD650 in the first place

I never heard such thing that you need a better amps to overcome cable limitation.

Its obvious enough this is for speaker. It needs external amplification, although maybe it could drive low impedance headphone but would be troublesome to control the volume
