Nope, it fits super perfectly if you know how to put it in. Just put the laptop in, pull the zip a little higher, and fit it in.

The problem is after you put it into the bag and once your carry around the unit will slightly moving inside touching the inner zip rail. There should be some friction between the unit and the bag.

Nope. If you know how to put it properly, it doesn't even come close to brushing against the zip rail. Friction between the top padding and the laptop yes, but not the zip rail.

Here, I'll show you mine.

user posted image

Notice that there is a big gap between the zip rail & the laptop. When closed, the laptop is being pulled down by the top housing because of its snug fit, so I don't believe that it'll even come in contact.

Yes, I see the gap but somehow the gap in my bag is smaller. Maybe is it still new. BTW, thanks for the picture. smile.gif

Any Current XPS 16 users here care to share your experience, particularly anything you don't like, like heat/fan noise etc?

Just bought this Dell XPS L502X, tested the temp..idle 51-52 but when i use it to play online game Cabal, the temp increase to 84-85. I max the setting.

Graphic its excellent using GT540. No lag on Cabal & Aikasea. Will test other off line game later. The battery drain quite fast.

I can feel the heat on left side palm rest. Iam not using cooler pad at this moment. Overall this lappy is ok to me but a bit heavy.

Hei guys i just bought this New XPS L502X and currently waiting for the 3 days business day process to given me the estimated delivery period. Hope i can get it asap biggrin.gif

Spec that i bought :

XPS L502X

Intel® CoreTM i7 2630QM Processor (2GHz/6MB cache)
4GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (1 x 4GB)
2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M graphics with Optimus
15.6 FHD (1920x1080) B+RGLED display with TrueLife™
750GB hard drive (7200RPM)
9-cell LI (2.8Ah); Up to 8 hours, 29 minutes* of battery life with 9-cell battery
Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6230 with Bluetooth v3.0+HS for Malaysia

Price : RM 4,178

What i wondering is there are two choices on the website for this model http://www.dell.com/my/p/xps-l502x/fs

One with Good RM 3,299 ; Another one with Better RM 3,699

what different of these model :
processors - cheaper one is i5 2410M ; Another is i7 2630M
HDD - cheaper one is 500GB 7200RPM ; Another is 750GB 7200RPM

the others specs are totally same smile.gif

As i customized some upgrades for own purpose :
FHD Monitor / 9 Cell Battery / Better Network Card

For the cheaper i5 model, i customized it into i7 (same as the i7 one)
and also upgraded the HDD from 500GB to 750GB and the others customization on top i mentioned.

Here comes something weird.

I got the total price for i5 one(after customized) was RM 4,178
and i did tried on i7 one(after same customization as i5) was RM 4,248

there is 70 bucks cheaper while both of it are totally the same thing??

i checked with others details from both model which provided form the website.. still the SAME!

hmm.. so in the end i decided for the cheaper one (ofcoz i guess you will do so) but i m worried about is there any problem of it? did anyone experienced of the pricing different after customized?

i did search online and found that goods delivery period will be longer as the more customization you did. But i willing to wait for the best thing, why not? biggrin.gif

anyone got any experience of similar situation please feel free to give me a comment. i appreciate it thanks smile.gif

Hi guys,

After using the B+RGLED screen, it is hard to use back the normal screen. I'm currently using the old DELL ultrasharp LCD monitor for desktop and it is pale in comparison to XPS B+RGLED. Now trying to find a replacement for it and looking 21.5" LED backlit screen.

Any recommendation which offer the same B+RGLED quality color, sharpness, etc.

i7-2630Qm is a 2nd generation processor ... u cant compair it with 1st generation because its too awesome i would say... u can switch to integrated graphic anytime just to save power ~ and the hyper threading + turbo boost is too nice

Hi fren! glad that we got the same lappie! haha i just received my XPS 15 two hours ago!
hmm but sadly i m at working hour right now cant do anything yet and i cant wait to do the unboxing tonight! lolx

yeah i know i7-2630QM is the 2nd generation of icore series and with the sandy bridge tech it just boost up the performance compare with the first and it's really an awesome one! biggrin.gif

what i met was the pricing which i compared two totally same spec model (included the processor as well) but in different price which one is after customized and another one isnt.. i search around few websites and quite number of people meet with this funny issue too and what they concluded was dell given two choices to two type of buyers ; who willing to press for few for clicks (which enter the customize section and change it) will get the cheaper and the other model which is a bit more exp is for those who just wanna buy without any extra actions. LOL

which one you did ? biggrin.gif

Dell told me that my new XPS 15 will arrive in 2 - 3 weeks time, but it came in 1 week!

My L502X came with i7-2630, 8GB RAM, 500GB HDD, 2GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 540M graphics with Optimus and 15.6" (39.6cm) FHD (1920x1080) B+RGLED display with TrueLife.

So excited when it came much earlier than expected!

When I turned on the notebook, I thought something was totally wrong, the screen was yellowish when I turned on MS Words. Shouldn't the background be white? The yellowish was an eyesore. I couldn't bare to look at the screen for more than 10 minutes. Anyone with this full HD screen have the same problem? I called Dell TS and relate my disappointment, but they told me that this is the latest RGB+ LED design that the screen looks yellowish. What's more amazing is that the Dell TS solution was for me to downgrade the screen to 15.6" (39.6cm) HD (1366x768) WLED display with TrueLife or replace the system with an Inspiron 15R.

Please reply to me if you encounter the same issue. Thanks.

That is BIOS, don't really need to flash it unless you need its fix/enhancement..
Be careful if wrongly flash, notebook can be dead...
