dont forget to document your experience here what ever you can...

i expect wall and walls of words tongue.gif

P/s - dont let the inner circle thing stop you from doing your best... even if you cannot make it, at least you can say to yourself that there is no more you can do differently...

like normal job interview, i assume players who already in the system... meaning have experience with other President Cup team before... sport schools graduate .. or acquittance with the coach from previous engagement might have early advantage..

of course what i really want to know is until what level that is true or false..

dont forget to contact them personally through phone or email to ensure whether pre-registration is required. You dont want to haul yourself all the way to Bangi to only see everything by the sideline now do you.. tongue.gif

yeah be a "john terry" vocal tongue.gif

a lot of times local players were cided for not being vocal enough. it helps (a lot) when one is settled in quickly it shows in their 'confidence'. what aressandro said (has) some truth in it.

lolz i didn't get selected....but it was good experience tho (rm30 transport fee + 15 min play time )

when i reached there, there were already fully packed...around 300 players.. i was already expecting a hostile response because...ahem........ i was the only Chinese there. But it turned that many of them were friendly.

When we were called to play, the coach asked for my name..
coach : "nama apa ???"
me : "xxxx..."
before i even finish saying...
coach : " ah tak pe la, kau yang seorang orang cina saje"

i was like rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

dunno shud i take this as a compliment or something not so good..

Some of the players there were quite good, but most of them are just so so only. I realise all of the defenders there are reluctant to pass to keeper when under pressure even when its clear for him to do so.

When it was my turn to play, our side was randomly selected from those who registered for todays trial, but we were put up against a side that is consist of players that were selected from their first selection. So you know the balls is flowing towards one side only. we played around 15 min, goalless draw, and none from my side were selected. I shaked hands with the coach, and i knew its time to go home.

Speaking of my own performance, i made a few bad clearance (with my left foot!!!), that was my uttermost weakness, unlucky it was exposed to the max today. Other than that, not much notable mistakes, the opponent can't dribble me anyway...they shoot from outside the penalty area lolz. Those defenders who were selected can actually clear the ball from their own defensive third to the opponents penalty area, which amazes me....

I respect the coach's decision for not selecting me and i believe those who were selected are better than me. But i also believe i m not far from that level.

At the end of the game, coach said something i would love to highlight .. (translated to english), " To become a good player, the most important is to learn the proper kicking technique."

I guess my send-the-ball-to-KLCC clearing technique aren't good enuf then... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

i wasnt happy that i wasnt selected, but i am happy that i know my weakness now.

Since /ktards love drillz so much, i shall post some pic i took...but this doenst include the pic of me playing cause i cant be holding the handphone while playing.

auch... 15 minutes only... i was afraid it comes to that... i dont think thats good enough time to make a decision that can change a player and the club's future.. what can happen in 15 minutes is just pure luck or unluck i think.. i think 3 x 15 minutes multilevel trial would be much more ideal to see a player's consistency and ability to improve...

...in the first 15 minutes you might still not totally warmed up yet

granted 300 candidates is too much for a day trial... i was expecting around 70... maybe to cutdown from 300, they would do specific ability test first before they hit the field..

what do you mean by "send-the-ball-to-KLCC clearing technique" ? High but no distance?

there was even no warm up, i didn't do any running , just stretching a bit. and my first touch on the ball was in the field already...

it was terribly crowded, can see in the pic.

lolz my coach always joke with me, he say if i have no way out....just send the ball to KLCC, means far and high, sadly i didnt do that today...

yeah.. propably a thing you can learn from this is condition at trials is not guranteeed totally ideal to your condition...

next time ... if things can be properly prepared.. come with a few mates and a ball so that you can pass the ball around while waiting to calm your nerves and warm up.. jumping into a 15 minute trial without a proper warm up is just ... well you are fighting for your lives on the word go...

so the coach gives indivual comments or anything?

yeah.. that whats i thot too....

personally i think one day trials such as this are bullshit with the amount of candidates to choose from... they can have a better assesment by sending scouts to tournament...

It was good experience to attend such trials... most M-League teams do hold trials, but mostly will select players based on scouting...

But then again, talking about scouting.. I played in KL League for a year in 2006 but not once in that period I saw any coaching staff from KL team went down to see any of the games. Maybe they get their feedbacks from match officials... usually the coaches will talk to the refs to get their opinion on certain players...

It was also a good experience for me to have played in that kinda organized league... & to be in a good team with lotsa good players, made playing football really enjoyable.. & sorta increased my expectations on the other teams I play for after I quit the league & the team... until I decided to hang my boots for good a couple of years ago, I've yet to find any team as good as Comic Corner..

My best experience with them was playing against the Young Lions (Singapore U-21) team.. my first ever international.. lost like.. 0-2 I think.. I played in the 1st half, conceded one goal from a penalty... & got a good sized bump on my forehead from somebody's elbow... rclxms.gif
