Type of camera/lens/accesories :DSLR
Budget:2000-2500
Your Location:KL
Preferable brand : Nikon
Type of photography u want to do :landscape, Portrait and night scene
Any specific models in mind? :D3100 and D5000
Any specific features u want? :long battery life and easy to handle

Which one is better between D3100 and D5000? which can capture low noise for night scene and easier to use for Beginner in DSLR
*
If you prefer Nikon.
I will choose D3100 at any time since it own Nikon latest technology improvement in sensor, ISO performance and processor is truly amazing.
however the downside is it is smaller, no bracketing and no swivel LCD.
you got to choose there.

D3100 is better in low light performance.

u cant goes wrong with D3100, i recomend that too smile.gif it would be my choice if i want to buy a DSLR for a beginner. It is small, light, and powerfull enough to suit ur requirement. Taking photos like with D3100 is easy with D3100's Guide Mode - in-camera guidance that shows you step-by-step how to change camera settings.

Different level. 1000HS is Ixus series, its more to design. S95 is semi-pro / high end compact camera. Good enough, and close to DSLR level. smile.gif
I will prefer Powershot S95.

A33 for 2.1k has enough functions and features compared to D3100. If you want, take Nex lo. Also can match up but a bit smaller.

Ergonomics wise. Both also no AF motor inside. Lol.
