No, you need to renew your passport. Must have at least 6 months before expiry date.

I thought so too but not sure. Early the year I tried to book my ticket on TigerAirways but due to my passport expiry date I couldn't make any purchase. But I had no problem to buy ticket with airasia...

hmm, i go by bus, same as my dad... i hate taking pt because i can reach the office probably in 15-20 mins by car, but mrt and bus takes more than an hour!! who the hell says singaporean public transport is efficient?!

SG bus and MRT WILL be there as schedule and the operation is closely monitored. Let me tell you my experience of some Malaysian bus operator.

1) detour to their workshop for repair while the whole bus load of passenger stuck on-board.

2) On main road, driver ask "ada orang turun?" If no aswer then the driver skip the entire Taman route. Good luck if you are waiting for bus at the taman.

3) Bus driver ask you to get down at the entrance of taman just because he is rushing to go home.

...

so, malaysian bus operator is more efficient? I think SG bus company dont need to learn from them.

It applies to all - including Singapore. Better just have it renewed to avoid any issues with Immigration. Takes only one hour now at certain offices.

Its not an idea, its like the advertisement of products, what you see and hear from them is not what you get or even expect.

Like how lucifer tells people that doing his deeds is the right thing when its the direct opposite.

Hello fellow LYNers, I have a question:
Let's say I'm looking for a room in Simei/Tampines/Pasir Ris area, is it correct to presume that I would need about SGD$1500 for the first time?

Break down:
SGD$500~600 for rental + deposit SGD$500~600 = SGD$1000~1200
Agent fees = SGD$250~300
Utilities etc. = ~SGD$50

Could this amount be lower? Or I'm actually expected to spend more?
That's a lot of money ler cry.gif

p/s: any comments/tips/etc regarding rental/renting in SG are welcomed and appreciated icon_rolleyes.gif

as i know, when u go to renew your passport, u still can keep you old passport, just they cut a corner of your old passport, so you still can show you old passport to SG custom together with your new passport when you enter.

2. if i want to let go of my PR in the future, while i'm stil working in Sg. izit possible ?

3. the employer normally prefer PR or without PR ? between paying for our CPF, or being limited to certain amount of foreigner ? construction field ...

Why not?

If you can convince your employer to apply for AND the govt to issue you a work pass, sure.

Construction field... no idea. Finance... they will hire whoever can get the job done. The little bit of cost difference is not a concern.
