I don't see any reason to use converter if you use N900. So far I can play almost all video format I wanted to play without converting then. That including some funny audio format. Install MPlayer + SiB you should be able to play majority of the videos assuming the resolution is supported by N900. [quote=gyianz,Jan 24 2011, 06:36 PM] thats definitely true as i was converting the bootscreen video for my n900. i downloaded in flv and changed to avi resolution would go higher or lower dpending on the format i am still surprised how the resolution could go higher. lol sifu... i installed sib n mplayer... rename .flv file to .avi.. but can't play that video... ________________________________________________________ EDITED can play right now..... need to play from SiB This post has been edited by vaizard: Jan 25 2011, 01:30 PM |

Some .flv has different container or something like this. Use a video converter and reconvert it into .flv format and transfer into your N900 and it will work |

When use KMPlayer, you need to change the "player" to mplayer, default if I'm not wrong, it's using maemo5 default media player. This post has been edited by Andy214: Jan 25 2011, 10:40 PM |

As for the Dualbooting... after reading a few post back...your Bootmenu .item file is correct ka??? Seems like u have .item for Nitdroid and .item for omap1 only... Thats why u see only those 2... or u checked this already? |

Thanks in advance. You may have to create the .item file manually.I'm quite sure your kernel power has been installed successfully. It's just you missing the multiboot file. QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jan 25 2011, 11:33 PM) It can't even play 480p properly... I can play SOME 480p videos properly. Can't do anything, hardware limitation... It's still IRREPLACEABLE to date. This is my guess: N9 or whatever MeeGo phones Nokia planned is hardware wise ready. It's just the OS isn't quite as ready as Nokia & Intel expected.Frankly speaking even I expected a much more developed OS that current 1.1.80 MeeGo built. Ah well...The OS I'm trying now is pure vanilla OS.For sure Nokia will include their own UI + some proprietary stuff to make it more interesting. The picture will be clearer in MWC 2011. And yes,I did said MeeGo phones because from the current MeeGo code there are clearly at least 2 phones in making.Too bad both contain code RM-XXX which means this is not a internet tablet successor. QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Jan 25 2011, 11:41 PM) I can play SOME 480p videos properly. What's the bitrate of the video? Lowering the bitrate would help but it will affect the quality. You're using mplayer which utilizes the cpu right? I oc-ed to 900mhz, still very bad...This is my guess: N9 or whatever MeeGo phones Nokia planned is hardware wise ready. It's just the OS isn't quite as ready as Nokia & Intel expected.Frankly speaking even I expected a much more developed OS that current 1.1.80 MeeGo built. As for MeeGo, the OS can still be improved even after it's released, just as long as they don't abandon it like Maemo... My main concern here is.... what will be the specs of the device be when it launch? Since they have delayed, will they update the specs according to the latest specs? Coming soon, there will be dual core, powerful dedicated graphics, etc devices in the market. If Nokia falls behind on hardware (like N900, N8, C7 etc), it will not be looking good... Plus, other device might probably be able to run MeeGo... by then... why people want to choose Nokia phone if Nokia hardware is way behind of others... The Korean and HTC phones are always up-to-date in the latest hardware specs... IF MeeGo is available for those devices.... Nokia phones will have tougher competition. |

QUOTE(TimothyTham @ Jan 25 2011, 11:47 PM) Nope, you cannot just flash eMMC.eMMC aka the 32GB internal memory contains the /home/ partition which contain applications file.As such you cannot flash the eMMC alone. You can manipulate the size of the partitions without losing data if thats what you want to do. If you want a stock setting phone I suggest you to use FP Flashing Method B.It'll flash both rootfs & eMMC. QUOTE(Andy214 @ Jan 25 2011, 11:52 PM) What's the bitrate of the video? I think I played with both MPlayer & VLC. About MeeGo device,I'll take a properly implemented OS over a hard end hardware any day. Even for desktop PC the devs still yet to take full advantage of multiple CPU core. Not much games utilize the multiple CPU Cores. N8 is good example of decent OS implementation. The CPU isn't all that powerful but the overall OS functions is quiet fluid. I don't think hardware spec will be any problem. Most probably it'll have a dual core ARM processor at launching time & eventually Nokia will start using Atom SOC. I'm still waiting whether Intel can deliver the promised 7 days standby time with moorestown based SOC.If they can deliver it I'll get a Intel CPU based MeeGo phone for sure even if the OS bit "patchy" |
