Need a recommendation for guitar...
My Budget is around 850-1050

I need the guitar to be able to play in slow musics and metal type too
How about those Squier brand vs the SX GG Les Paul Black Beauty... from what I heard.. the SX LP is good and balance in most of the genre type of musics... Preferably got 24 frets

Well, I am not good in guitar so would really like to hear some comments from you guys

Any brand you guys will recommend me? Be it Fender (definitely out of budget ), Squier, SX, Ibanez or any la.. as long as it is around my budget

If you can add another Rm200 to your budget, you can get the Squier Deluxe Stratocaster FMT.

Check it out, the guitar was reviewed by me smile.gif

Nice guitar there but is there any guitar that have 24frets to recommend me around that budget again??? I am looking for a 24frets but I know it's hard to find a Squier to have 24frets which is within my the amount of budget. sweat.gif

Why do you need 24 frets? lol... I think having 24 frets might affect the guitar's intonation but then again I'm most probably wrong. tongue.gif

Are you the kiasu type in that "24 frets = More notes to be played" type? Or is it that you ABSOLUTELY need to play using the 24th fret?

Nope... This guitar will not be played by me only, partly by my brother who will definitely need it. If the budget can still reach or I need to splash out a little bit more money to get that, I still don't mind... smile.gif

blacktrix, what are u trying to mean that having a 24 frets guitar is kiasu?

what he meant dat some ppl (esp noobs) want to have that 24 frets just to "tunjuk terror" that he got more notes to play.. like "OMGWTF I CAN PLAY 2 FULL OCTAVES U CANT".. it's normal for all newcomers to guitar. as in wanna tunjuk terror..

sorry if it sounds vague, u know wat i mean?

well.... the reason y a 24 fret neck > a 21/22 fret neck is easily noticable...
1st of all.... no it wont effect innotation...
it can play everything a 21/22 fret guitar can do... with an extra 2 frets thats all...
its like choosing a 30 speed bike over a 12 speed one.... y settle for less?

nerd> that is the dumbest shit ive ever heard... how many guys with 24 fret guitars have you come across with that kind of attitude?
no offence.

blacktrix, led zep> yea in fact there very few songs that need the 24th fret... but like i just said, y settle for less? it just like a 21/22 fret guitar with 2 extra frets....
kiasu wouldnt be appropriate to describe those with 24 fret guitars imo... well u can always correct me if im wrong

davidlow7> you wont need a 24 fret neck but its an extra...
look at samick guitars... my friend has got the PRS copy
with your budget i think a SX, Samick should be fine
or add some xtra hundred and look at yamahas....
the pacifica 112 got good reviews from guitar world... maybe led zep can add more?

Well, you can always be the next Rusty Cooley tongue.gif . After all why settle for less? tongue.gif tongue.gif

If you're the kind of guy who loves Vai to death and wanna play his songs note-for-note, then go ahead. Otherwise you get to choose from more variety of guitars.

Pac 112? Mine's Made in Indonesia and it holds up very well. A little buzz in the top E-string on mine but could be easily fixed, the pickups don't pick that up tho. I love the PAC for its playability, it's a lot better than some SX and entry-level Ibanez I've played. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif The pickups will be good enough for beginners but you'ill need something better as you progress. Highly recommended for beginners and intemediates tho. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

thanks evo.com for ur comments..
Well, it's true...

It's great to hear all the comments but i have so many friends oredi have a 22 frets guitar.. and some of them need 24 .... so why i still settle for 22? and we can still exchange guitars to play at times.... and my brother also do play my guitar...

but i dun mind hearing more opinions... dun worry guys.... just give ur opinions.. smile.gif

My sentiments is EXACTLY what nerd says.

I'm just saying that if you want to spend an extra like 500 bucks for those extra frets when you don't need them, you just WANT them because well, EXTRA frets, then I think it's bloddy stupid to do that.

MOST of us here play the regular fretboard layout and it's capable of playing all the songs that we want to play on the 6 string. You're not loosing out on anything even if you're using the standard 21/22 fret. REALLY.

So if you found a VERY good guitar for your price range (like the SX Black Beauty), but you're only drawback is the 24th fret, then I say go for the Black Beauty. You're not loosing out on anything.

And don't forget, it's YOUR guitar... not your friends. Play what YOU want to play. Last time, my bandmates asked me to go for a 7 string ibanez. I sticked to my Les Paul and never looked back since.

Well a 24-fret-guitar does have its advantages :

The author's obviously a little bias, but you can milk a thing or 2 from there. wink.gif
