Just received my U2311H, do I need edit any settings? And how do you check for dead pixel?

Hi, what do i need to do to get the promotion Dell is giving?

dvi digital, hdmi, dp are digital, you wont have any degradation.
however only hdmi and dp can carry audio as well.

the extra pcfair discount ended on 17.04. Price was 539.
i called on 18.04 to request pcfair price and was accepted, monitor coming tomorow.

you could try calling them and see if its still possible, but it might be abit late now

wondering why i cant choose the "auto adjust" button on monitor?

Auto-adjust is enabled only if you're using D-SUB (VGA). For DVI or DP, it is not needed.

i got my dell u2311h today too.

But i notice something, the on/off button seems a bit off, it's not level to the buttons above it. slanted in at the edge there. Poor installation of the button?

Another thing, i am seeing ripple when connect to my laptop.

Does tat mean i just got a lemon unit?

does anyone know where I can get a minidp to dvi adapter? (not the Apple adapter)

to other u2311h owner, where to find the service tag for the monitor? I can't seem to find it on the monitor...

u mean heat(smokey) smell?
thats definitely not normal
the usb ports at the side can be used as normal usb ports, to connect your thumbdrives and stuff. theres 4 usb ports, 2 at the side and 2 at the bottom.
use the cable given to connect the usb input to a usb port on your pc so all the ports on the monitor can be used.

guys, if I use a hdmi or a display port rather than the DVI, what advantage would it give?
the u2311h doesn't come with built in speakers or audio input, so in what way is the HDMI or DP gona help to carry audio?
