About the A42JA, i want to update my ati driver. I download the CCC file-around 90mb. So should i uninstall my current one before installing this new one?

Also if there is a problem than how do i revert back to the old one?
*
Its recommended to uninstall old driver first before updating to latest one. If there is problem, remove the problematic one and install old version back. It shouldn't have any problem

Hi Sifu's,

Im having a problem to buy a new notebook because of Im really confuse with model is suit for me. I looking for a notebook that can run 3d design and rendering, budget is around 3-4K. Yesterday I went to computer shop and saw asus A42JA, the spec is very good and the price affortable RM2999, I also saw a N43/N53JQ, look class and using a alluminium/titanium(dont know the exact material) as a cover. Both look like have the same spec but difrent outlook. I really like the Nseries but if I can save money, better to buy a42ja. But yesterday I ask the shop to on the notebook (a42ja), the windows cannot open (mention harddisk failure). Ermmm, a new computer facing this kind of problem? How about quality? ANd I ask the selller how they solve this problem, he said he will call the asus agent to come to their shop and replace the harddisk. Look strange???? It suppose to change to the new one, NOT replacing the harddisk and sell as the new one... Sifu's really appreciate your advise.... If have any suggestion on other brand/model, plz help me on this... Thanks a lot

I will be getting N53JQ pretty soon, probably this weekend. My consideration would be USB3.0 and maximum 16GB ram support on N53JQ. Huge memory is good for me to run multiple virtual machines. Here's a nice review on N53JQ: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c84UKNzMQII

Good review and model bro,
I saw and tested this model yesterday, very solid design and the sound is very good, But I'm prefer 14" and below. Just curious, If asus cannot control the quality before sell it to customer, how about hte quality after sale?? unsure.gif

No comment on after sales as this would be my 1st time on Asus, used Compaq, ThinkPad & Dell before, only Dell need repair after MOBO die 1 month before 3 years warranty expired tongue.gif Previously was considering Dell XPS, but decided to get Asus after try out the N53JQ, really like the solid built very much. Any how, I will be getting it from shop with good reputation on after sales service (Swisspac, Penang), so not much worry on that.

If you mean warranty services, you send it to the service centre directly instead of the shop you bought it from..

What I meant is, if the Asus service center sucks, I still can rely on the shop.

You do know that the shops send it to the same service centre also right? It takes even longer to service if you rely on the shops because they need time to send it and they have other customers in queue as well, based on my experiences, the shops normally ask you to go send it to service centre yourself because it's much faster that way...
