The GT335M uses the MXM 3 as standard (same as GTX260M), but I haven't taken the time to open up my A42Jv just yet. Hopefully it's not soldered considering it's a mid range GPU.

Ok...just formatted my laptop with my own copy of Windows.

Most are running fine but I'm missing my Lan adapter driver. Also the matshita DVD ram and my virtual drive appear in the "Safely remove hardware" systray icon list. I'm more concerned about the Matshita...prone to being removed. I tried it and the drive disappears from "Computer". Had to restart to get back the drive.

Any way to fix this?

Oh you mean the card? Even low end card like HD3450 have the MXM equivalent.

Try downloading drivers from Asus support website?

Sweet, now time to see what shape it is and perhaps I'll go pick up a GTX260M from eBay.

Don't get too excited. By the looks of it I don't think there is a room to fit MXM slot on A42 body

Tried that. The driver installed and I can view my LAN adapter for a bit before it disappears. Also the fact that my DVD drive still in the safely remove hardware list is annoying "

Oh well, wishful thinking doesn't hurt anyways.

from the users here, is theere any bad things to say about the U45JC/U35JC Laptops, the ultra portable series. I have read the reviews but wanted to get the opinions of those using it here

Get U41Jf instead now... Much better GPU for a slight price difference.. It's not ultra portable series la.. It's just slimmer profile and long battery life.. 14 inch still weighs 2kg also..

erm...now is ok liao...i think is bcuz of the live stream thing bah...but hor..i play city ville on full screen,my lap top will hang...whole screen bcome white...how oh.. i jus bought this few days ago lerh...
