Just watched the solo 180 3D heli, it looks like under-power to do 3D like flipping .........

No lah, I was not comparing the heli size .....

I was comparing this solo to walkera's latest Genius CP & MCPx .......

The other 2 look like flipping faster ........

Small heli the cyclic swash mix cannot be that much or else motor bog down easily. Hehehe, that's Solo's first 3d heli, i think cannot compare to those like walkera and eflite already ......

But Nine eagle really worth my claps because they make small heli 3d capable, not the hard core one lah.

It will actually. I did a test before.

Tried to spin up the heli with a little bit of throttle and hold it with hand, should be less than a quarter of the throttle stick.

Now if I pull elev/ail I can notice the RPM drop. Of course at very very high RPM we may not realize lah if the cyclic is negligible.

So I agree with you, the more cyclic u put the more power u need. Just that to what extend you define motor bogging only loh

Hehehe, that was just a test to verify physic ...... of course we dont fly at that level of throttle range lah ... but you can see the effect here with physic.
Maybe we should put it this way, by physic whenever you tilt the rotor disc (that's elev & ail or cyclic) it will actually bring more load to the gear and hence the motor. It will all the time!

BUT, we are spinning at such a high RPM that the optimum cyclic (talking about 8 or 9 degree for trex) is always negligible. For sure this will be more obvious when we get the biggest collective pitch and cyclic pitch altogether, anyway it is rare

Added on October 5, 2011, 11:07 amAlways follow the setting per the manual for that ball link hole distance, if manual recommends 5mm then just follow 5mm. The distance of the hole play a role in introducing the gain, it is a mechanical gain. If mechanical gain too high (by moving to outter hold from the servo horn center) you will have a hard time adjusting your gyro gain in the Tx .... probably a tail wagging loh ......


Since it is a super combo package, everything should have been tested and verified, so i think better not to deviate from there lah.

The tail of 450 Pro is not hard to setup, it may take some little time to do it. The hardest one to me so far was the tail for a 250 size with self-matching gyro & servo myself. Damn 9 hard to setup, even now it is flyable but not good enough yet compare to my 450.

Just take a look at the manual. It should be 10mm distance but you don't need to drill a hole to make 10mm. Good enough to use the closest distance.

So if in between the hole is 11mm and 9.5mm one, use 9.5mm hole.


Setting up the tail blade pitch to about 8 deg is what people called rate mode setup. I did not follow that but just try to give some anti torque pitch (maybe 3 or 4 only) while trying to keep everything 90 deg.

It is more of a personal preference so if you think you are happy with your tail I think you don't have to follow exactly loh, that's what I think lah

Align did not sell tail pitch linkage afaik, you need to search for Tarot's part for this, the other 2 you can get it easily from rcsmart or mymegastation. Or check with RC366 .......

Don't rush to maiden, relax yourself to let things run smooth.

I would suggest a training kit for your maiden since it is your first challenge on 6ch heli. Just increasing the throttle bit by bit, till you lift off the heli about an inch above the ground (it starts to float), then just feel the heli/control

It should be pretty safe with a training kit but remember not to bang your stick too much and too hard.

Hehehehehe, my thumbs were shaking but with an exciting heart when I flew my belt cp for the first time.

Icic, if that's the case you may want to look at those entry level heli .. could be a toy grade one like a coaxial heli (with 2 counter spinning blade at top and bottom).

I was struggling in between the 550 and 600 previously. But then chosen the 600 because I want to taste the 12S HV system and 600 super combo provided external BEC and more quiet main gear. The sound is really nice compare to the main gear sound of a 550.

Ho ho, have to fly this beast carefully loh ....... not fun to crash once ........

Qiw, cpmboy, ask you about your 8FG ah .....

If your throttle stick is above 1/3 position then when you switch on the radio it will ask you transmission ON/OFF. So it is sure that the stick direction is right because when the stick is lowest then the transmission is just ON automatically.

Now if you go to SERVO menu, it shows you the percentage of your stick position, at here is your throttle stick -100% at HIGH stick and +100% at LOW stick?

Scare my Walkera Tx will bring problem to my 600 because the ON/OFF switch now has a bit of problem. The radio will not on if I push the button too hard. I think the switch loosen already.

Sounds like the -100% at high stick is common among us. Nvm I think I just reverse the stick to make it low stick -100% and high stick +100%. Thanks ah !!!!
