Hehehehe, RC heli/plane is not a toy!
Do not ignore the risk from the spinning rotor/blade.

trex250 quite expensive compare to its 450 size brother.

Any other clone that is cheaper and closest to the Trex250's performance/quality to recommend?

too bad, if the condition is still good I am willing to get it for not more than 500 bucks ..... nvm lah save $$$$
the one in MRC has no gyro and 4 servo, if I get it I think it would be the price of another kit ....

Qiw, If I am getting a 250 kit do you think the BCPV2 ESC (25A) is suitable to use? Would it be a bit heavy since the stock Trex250 only 15A which is lighter I belive ....

Thanks for the info.

But wonder how the Align stock ESC supplies current to 3 DS410 & 1 DS420 since it is only 2A continuous or 3A burst.

I know that a lot of the BCP ESC catching fire because the BEC is overloaded with just the stock servo. But both have the same rating .......

QUOTE(QiW @ Mar 21 2011, 07:23 PM)
same ratings does not mean they are the same
diff manufacturer ... maybe the ESKY ESC is 2A max but didnt say ??
the ds410 does not like to run at 6v (shortens lifespan significantly) i read in kwai loh forums so i used an external BEC for my PRO running at 5V

from my experience .. EMAX 25A ESC BEC sucks
i experimented ... 1 standard MG servo pulling retracts with a bit of binding .. the ESC got super hot and eventually cut out
this ESC is supposed to have a 2A BEC but still cannot supply current to ONLY 1 standard servo

the good one i have used so far is the turnigy plush 80A with 3A SBEC ... i used it with 1 mini MG servo (retracts) + 4x9g servos no prob
the other good one i have experience with is the turnigy blue series 40A with 4A SBEC ... used it with 7x9g servos oso no prob

If you just want a decent 2A BEC in ESC, you can try HobbyWing's Pentium. But beware of the fake Pentium and there are a lot out there as reported by the people in China.

Is the Trex 250 SE parts compatible with the old/standard/first version of Trex 250?

It looks like there are number of improvements on the SE version.

I see that your signature has so many Walkera's stuff especially v450D01. So far how do you think about this 450 size from Walkera? Comparable to a Trex 450?

Hehehe, I am also a Walkera heli and radio owner. Do you like your 2801 Pro and are you using it to control your Trex 250 SE?

So far i hav tested my 2801pro from my plane. The radio has no problem with about 200meters. Hehe, i think even with 700 size heli u would not be able to see CLEARLY!

What is the battery size u r using for ur 250se now? The C of the battery?

OK, 60% will give you 5 minutes. So there should be another 1 min++ of flight time if you want to go up 80% of utilization.

Wow, like that 3D with 250SE may expect lesser time already. But not a problem to me since I dun have 250SE and I dun know 3D yet tongue.gif

don't know Align good or not because I have never owned one before. But I think it is something quite reasonable with the price and quality we get loh ........

Replaced the 4G6 rotor head whole set. Don't think I am going to do invert with 4G6 real soon so just ask ask see see what else can I use to learn inverting loh.
You suggested my BCP but I am hesitating.....

Yeap, it is like that for 4G6/4G6S. I have been using the same rotor head set for a year and crashing it a lot. Usually I just try to bend it back and reduce the vibration as much as possible.
But unfortunately a recent crash has broken a part which is hard to repair so might as well just replace the whole rotor head. Anyhow, vibration still there but it is a huge different with the stability i am getting now. Just that the tail is still drifting only loh .... dun bother lah as long as I can fly.

Hehehe, any plan to let go your Trex 450 Pro or not?

After a while with my belt cp (which is belt driven too) I have to say I will try to avoid belt driven tail. One thing I hate most is the adjustment of the belt tension. Too loose not good but too tight also not good, there is no proper measurement you can tell whether it is the right tension or not ..... heheheh with torque tube then you don't have to worry.

But each has its pro and con lah, so it is up to your own preference. If you ask me to choose, I will go for torque tube now.
