FP turned on and using a compatible flashgun.

pop up flash can only support sync speed up until 1/200..
if u're using external flash then 1/4000 will be okay if the flash is powerful enough..

u guy know that light travels very fast right?
but after 1/250 the light wont be sufficient to reach the subject, esp when ur subject is far (when using pop up flash)
by getting an external flash, u can get power.. the flash will add more power to the flash/light that will make sure the light reaches the subject to catch up with the 1/4000 shutter..

but not all external flash can do it...
in nikon, its know as FP, its automatically enabled in sb600, sb700 and sb900.. other model ie sb30, sb400 i havent check yet..

thatis the logical part of the answer..
for the more 'technologycal' part u have to wait for someone else expert to explain..

It's kinda funny to read about light having insufficient speed to reach the subject etc.. you need to know how the shutter works in the first place.. and the equivalent electronic shutters in DSLR.

BTW, I am a Nikon F2A user (yes a classic 'pro' film camera) and Coolpix 5700.

After D7000, now is time to save some money for lense..my next target is Tamron SP AF 17-50mm f/2.8 XR DI-II VC (Vibration Compensation). 

Or you guys have better opinion?? which lense shd i first buy for my D7000?

I think is just nice and better than the stock lense of D7000.

The 50mm f1.4G is worth with the price tag of rm1700 ? compare to the 1.4d version.

Get AFD, still in production and can do 0.5x macro.
Surprising sharp and good color for a rm1.8k lens.
But your body must have motor first.

The new higher range lens are all N lens. ;-) This is pretty much how Nikon differentiate their higher range versus their normal lens I guess. Like how Canon label their L.

I just read about teleconverter lens.. How do I calculate maximum focal length if added x1.4 tele converter lens?

is it like max focal length eg. 55mm x 1.4?

17-55mm, 2.8g Tamron..cost about RM1600..i think is ok...better than normal kit lens!

It seems like my lens when it cant focus on an object, It will produce a type of sound which is like some mechanism without a proper maintainence like without any greasing on it...very annoying... Anyone got this kind of case before??

okay bro , since i know u sure used b4 these two .

coz i m thinking to sell my d3000 body and top up for a used d90 + a 1.4d
or straight get a 1.4g
when i have enough fund.
