I found that myofusion choc milk smells and tastes like a very mild milo.. looks like milo powder too
Btw, how do u guys measure per scoop? What qualify as 1 scoop? I used those chinese red spoon used to drink soup and per scoop only carries about 10grams of powder... the tub says 36grams per scoop, meaning i have to pour 3 scoops of powder in my soup spoon so that it counts as one serving. The amount of water i mix in doesnt matter right? As long as i down all the required amount of powder.. This post has been edited by whale1987: Dec 8 2010, 02:29 PM |

lol, is a good pick bro those EAA and that animal pak is abit pricey i m still considering if i m going to take anavite after this or take some MLM's multivitamin XD. Anyway, i love Animal pak for the reason that it has grape seed extract, great antioxidant.
This morning i just realize the label on my Xtend, 160 -180lbs, u got to take 4 scoops (split it in half in the morning and the other half intra) and another 2 scoop post workout, tats like freaking 6 scoops and 6 scoops if u r 180 above. Dayum. I gona stick with intra only eventhou my NO doesnt have any bcaa XD. |

I was in medical and I needed to do that. But now in orthopaedics it's better and drinking blends or mrp's will help in positive nitrogen balance. 3-4 scoops intra is fine. This morning i just realize the label on my Xtend, 160 -180lbs, u got to take 4 scoops (split it in half in the morning and the other half intra) and another 2 scoop post workout, tats like freaking 6 scoops and 6 scoops if u r 180 above. If u were to compare this two,i felt that Xtend do provides me with a better endurance thou but i didnt take any NO with my purple wraath last time so... cant really tell the core effect of purple wraath hehe. One thing bad about purple wraath, u dont know the exact amount of bcaa, malate and etc in the supplement So how does Purple Wratch compare to Xtend? |

Guys, does it a good idea to mix casein and whey together? Planning to buy ON casein and whey to replace my myofusion. Reasoning is i think i can control the ratio of casein and whey like before bedtime, i can put more casein than whey and vice versa after training. Right now i only use myofusion.

So i was thinking may be myoplex + those seed would be a good choice as whey is just digesting too fast. Hey, actually u can blend those nut or seeds for the entire week and keep it in a bottle and everyday just premix it in the shaker so when time is up just add in water Xd, its quite handy. |

first of all...sorry if this Q isnt appropriate or have been mentioned earlier. i have a few Qs on supplements. Hope you guys can give me some tips/correction.
1)im comfortable with my weight (maybe a few kg lesser is ideal) but i have considered to take some supplements to shape up my physic. Some mention about a "cutting" suplement instead of a protein or mass stuff. Will it increase my body mass? i dont want to look huge btw. 2)i do go to gym 3 times a week (2 hours) and which supplement is appropriate to consume if i want the footballer type of physic? i start to cut down on dinner. p/s: hope you guys/otai2 dont mind giving me some advice. |

Supplements are meant to supplement and already solid diet plan. If you exercise and eat right, your body composition will improve, yes. FYI, it's not easy to, as you say, look huge.1)im comfortable with my weight (maybe a few kg lesser is ideal) but i have considered to take some supplements to shape up my physic. I'm sorry, cutting out any meals is bad, no matter what your goals (unless you want to be anorexic). All meals are important. Like I said, your diet comes first, before supplements. So, post your diet and workout plan here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/301136 |

Supplements are meant to supplement and already solid diet plan. If you exercise and eat right, your body composition will improve, yes. FYI, it's not easy to, as you say, look huge. thx. i thought i might kena marah. 2. I'm sorry, cutting out any meals is bad, no matter what your goals (unless you want to be anorexic). All meals are important. Like I said, your diet comes first, before supplements. So, post your diet and workout plan here http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/301136 |

It's common newbies only take whey at the beginning as it's the obvious choice for gaining muscles.
But as u go along u discover more important/interesting supp tat can help improve/ intensify ur workout. |

Grabbed a tub of Myofusion with my Syntha-6 top up just to try based on the recomendations here, on paper Myofusion takes the cake. Tried it, and I can see what you guys are on about. Syntha-6 reminds me more of ice-cream while Myo is more thick chocolate.
I'm sold. Bye bye ON Whey, in comes Myofusion. Gonna take that unopened Black Powder for a test drive next. |

For the same price, ON is whey while Myofusion is a blend. That alone is reason for me to switch. After a couple of years on ON whey, Myofusion is a godsend as far as taste is concerned.

yup, myofusion is really good stuff. I tried 1 tub few months ago... the choc flavour... whoo... it really taste great compared to ON. Currently I'm only using ON for post workout... the ON's tub is running out soon... wondering if i should also replace that with myofusion...
btw, i've recently bought their vanilla flavour... man that is like drinking liquid ice cream vanilla even though i'm just using water to prepare the shake. |

So based on the previous comments, Myofusion is actually better than ON 100% Whey? Why is that so? I mean, what's the difference between a blend and whey?

It depends on what you mean 'better than'. Taste wise, I would say so but then again taste is highly subjective.Whey is fast digesting protein that spikes blood amino acids faster. Blends are a combination of slow and fast digesting proteins, so it becomes a timed release mechanism that keeps you fed for [x] number of hours. It all depends on your application, post workout the vast majority of people would opt for whey because of it goes to work quick. Bedtime however, most would opt for slower digestion rates to act as an anti-catabolic while you're recharging in bed. Switching out my ON Whey for the Myofusion blend is just a personal choice of my own. I have doubts on the bioavailibility of 50gs of whey in a single go, and thought of trying a blend where the is still whey in the mix but also some slower digested proteins to keep me covered for the next couple of hours. Personal experimentation, I"ll see if the next 3 months present any noticable physique changes. |

I think Iamyanwu did mentioned before on the fast digesting protein with sufficient enzyme then it will only "fully" digest the amount of protein that u consumed. Therefore, alternatively u can add in some slow release protein that the body can absorb more completely.
I have read another article long time ago regard casein and whey for postworkout which promotes muscle grow and bla bla bla and i did it before, taking whey with milk for post workout, but i m a lactose intolerance victim, the toilet broke aft i tried it for 1 month. XD |

I realized after taking ON 100% whey, my lips gets very cracked when I wake up. I read that protein increases the body heat but drinking extra 3 liters of water a day didn't help at all. Geez..

Darn.. I just understood what you meant XD Anyway, it started after taking whey. I'm also thinking of other possible factors such as the increase in my workout regime. But on the other hand, I never experienced my lips being this dry before. I'm thinking of just increasing my water intake first and see how it goes.

Took Black Powder for a test workout today.
Mood was pretty good heading to the gym, pre-workout nutrition sucked though as the only thing I managed to down 2 hours before hitting the gym was a couple of biscuits no thanks to work creeping up on me. Downed it just before walking into gym, and I didn't feel any different. Fifteen to twenty minutes in, no shift in the way I feel. No 'feels good mang'. No brouhaha. Nothing. Finished my warmup and still no change. Now, this isn't criticism. In fact, it's rather good for me as I work out after work and it points to lower caffeine content. Judging by the ingredient list, and I cannot be certain because of the propriety blend shield, I can guess that this probably has much less caffeine compared to BSN's NO Xplode. If you're looking for caffeine on your NO Xplode bottle, they have it there as Methylxanthine under Ener-Tropic Xplosion. Less caffeine, good for me. I just felt calm. Like the 'calm before the storm' kinda calm. Shoulder day and today's plan was to increase the weight from last week and go heavy, low reps. After the first five sets of incrementing the weights, first three sets on heavy went by. No fuzz, no blurness. You just stare at the bar, and with a mental 'Let's do this', lift and bang out the next 6 reps. Fourth set. Fifth set. Sixth set. This is the first time I'm pushing these weights and I'm expecting fatigue to kick me in the teeth by the third set but it doesn't happen. It's just the same feeling of uncanny calmness as I stomp around the gym pumping out my sets. A little early to say but positive outlooks so far as it gets me through my workout withoutfatigue ripping me to shreds. And I don't know where the strength came from. Be trying it out later this week during chest and back day. Deadlifts this week should be interesting. Post workout, the jury is still out as I'm hoping I can sleep tonight and not catch insomnia like the first time I tried out NO Xplode. Some words on Myofusion which I posted earlier on page 7, sometimes I find the consistency a little too think for my liking. It's great when I'm feeling hungry, but a little too thick when I'm not. Mixing and matching with Syntha-6 now, purely taste bud driven. |

All this matters and adds up and generally, supplements which are marketed more towards bodybuilding have better value. so what u recommend?im totally dumb in these stuff, started jz last weekThis post has been edited by ZeneticX: Jan 28 2011, 10:21 PM |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Jan 29 2011, 12:50 AM) RM60/15 servings = RM4 per serving. and for the sake of comparison, i'll use ON Whey since I'm taking that now; ON Whey(5lbs), RM180/90 servings = RM2 nutrient content: your RM60 package label says (33g per scoop): 6.2g protein, 19.9g carbs, 3.1g fat, + other misc vitamins and what not im taking the content from just what you get per scoop from your label, for the sake of comparison ON Whey (30g per scoop): 24g protein, 3g carbs, 1g fat + other misc vitamins and what not http://www.wheygoldstandard.com/100wheyfamily/5lbwhey/ so now, if i buy a protein supplement i would expect to have protein as the main ingredient, right? when dan says read the labels, you probably have to read from a few more products and compare. most of the brands you can easily find out their nutrient contents online. being new isn't really an excuse, do your research bro This post has been edited by mikehuan: Jan 29 2011, 01:31 AM |

For the sake of argument, since when ON whey has 90 servings?
Just to add ON whey has only 1g of sugar per serving, one of the lowest there is. But I have moved on from whey for now. Giving some time for protein blend to settle in and mikehuan. y r u comparing a weight gainer with whey? |

oh my bad! reread the previous posts only realised it was a weight gainer. bleh ignore my post then.
though IMHO, i dont really get why must we take mass gainers when we can just eat more..and thanks pha88, janson on the servings correction on ON whey |

muscletech's nitrotech is also a protein blend.
and if wat i read is correct, it's more expensive and tastes awful. in the end, just buy something tat can get the job done. and nitrotech is only one of them. personal choice really. |

QUOTE(-Dan @ Jan 29 2011, 07:24 PM) Yeah I know. Nitrotech would cost rm1 more than ON per serving, on average. Just saying that the price has massively dropped, previously was ridiculously priced at 230-250.Edit: oh saw my earlier post, quite misleading. Should be nitro now not as pricey as previously. I've tried choco milkshake, currently on cookie cream. For me, both tastes awful .Choco milkshake doesnt taste as bad as cookie cream. I had an ingenious idea today of adding a spoon of milo. Goodness, that was bad.

Most definitely after finishing this I'm moving on. That's why I'm trying to read a lot about these. It seems that quite a number are taking ON instead. I still haven make a decision. ive been using celltech n nitrotech combo for a while celltech fruit punch flavor is okayy i guess. nitrotech banana cream is like yuckk but hey i paid for it right? so i just have it thinking of it as protein.
How does optimum whey.. gold standard tastes like? is it better than nitrotech? When I am over with nitrotech... I might get optimum nutrition... unless anyone of you have a better suggestion? |

QUOTE(statikinetic @ Jan 25 2011, 10:17 PM) Took Black Powder for a test workout today. Okay, two weeks on Black Powder.Mood was pretty good heading to the gym, pre-workout nutrition sucked though as the only thing I managed to down 2 hours before hitting the gym was a couple of biscuits no thanks to work creeping up on me. Effect for workouts seemed to have worn off, I don't notice the difference now. Bad thing is, it's been giving me bouts of insomnia sometimes. Like right now, 4 am and I'm still up. So I guess it's pretty safe to say it doesn't sit well with me. |

I'm on the Anaconda Protocol. I dunno how anybody recovers from this stuff. Instead of doing a cycle in one week, I need two and even then after 2 months my CNS has been fried.
So anyway, my idea now to counter this is ginseng. It's just an experiment. I bought these this evening. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Tried Champion Nutrition Pure Whey. Not bad, similar profile to ON's Gold Standard but at a much cheaper price (RM160 for a 5pounder).. not bad really. Tastes, like real chocolate (not too sweet & bitter at most). Yea I knoe... kinda reminds me of van houten chocolates, but you'll adjust to the taste. Its consistency is not too thick, more like ONs but you can adjust to taste by adding or lessening water in the mix. But overall, good stuff and I'm happy with it.

Hi everyone, I just tried Hemo Rage Black for the first time tonight. Dunno whether its psychological but I could definitely do more sets tonight. Is anyone else using this? Lots of scary stuff written on the label e.g. cannot consume twice within 24 hours but not sure if its just gimmick marketing. Do share your experience. Thanks! pha88 liked this post
