just a bit off topic here, true you'll find tonnes of apps in back|track on how to penetrate and security purpose. But if you buy any wireless extended devices from the bulk section, you'll get back|track life cd and that would be super easy to configure as they already include the apps that is newbie friendly, even those not from linux background also can do it.

you are always welcome to try it yourself, but imo configuring opensuse is much more difficult than ubuntu. You'll need sometime getting used to it.

I was a big fan of BT some time ago. Some of the included tools were quite sublime.
Actually, I'm tempted again, since my next door neighbor in SG just signed up for a 100MB/s connection (double my speed).... hehehehe

Anyways, some tweaks on yesterdays setup. Mainly to get more usability out of my Vim syntax highlighting.

GO AWAY WIDNWO$ USER! Nah, just kidding. You're always welcome here.

I recommend you to get Ubuntu because it was designed for... take no offense but people call it, 'n00b distro'. Well, I guess they're right after all. Ubuntu isn't challenging at all, everything is in the repo. While me, Fedora user, feels so fun customizing, compiling, blblablblbalbla, etc. Ok, stop the rant.

BTW, G-17, I still haven't figured out how to use ScrotWM, lol. doh.gif I installed scrot from the Fedora repo, log out, and I can't change to Scrot, I don't see any menu to do so. rclxub.gif I'll try searching the support forums.

A programmer eh? Then go for either Fedora or ArchLinux or Gentoo. I'd recommend you Fedora. biggrin.gif Well, actually you don't need to do programming at all(maybe there are some), but most of the source codes only need you to install the dependecies and compile them. nod.gif

Ubuntu is too easy, might not be fun for a programmer like you. tongue.gif

Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Kubuntu basically are the same, they use the same repositories from Ubuntu. Mandriva I don't have comment about it as the last time I used it, the distro was Mandrake before changed to Mandriva. Currently using openSUSE 11.3. If you want some light and easy for starting I would recommend you go for Linux Mint 10.

most of these OS do provide .iso that support 2 in 1, live session and hard installation if we decide to install into our pc later on.
