I have done this before one time when we upgrade to froyo but i forgot how, haha, here is a non-techie for u i googled and found that we must install android sdk to be able to, i remember installing this last time but not sure if this is the way? please help. tq!

QUOTE(exal2006 @ Aug 10 2011, 07:31 PM) Who has upgraded to 2.3 Gingerbread? Any problem so far?? I have just sold my phone to my friend. There wont be an official upgrade to GB for Legend, sad but true. You can use the Sense 1.0 RC3 if you are interested to root it. Its GB rom based on the HTC Salsa (Legend lookalike). Sense 2.0 really bring a lot of improvement but since its an unofficial ROM, there are many problems with the ROM. If you can live without WiFi Hotspot and wifi that might reboot your phone anytime, plus some other bug here and there, then go for it. I dont like it at all.

It wasn't easy, but I learned a lot. Rooting & flashing Cyanogen 7 was a great experience and it's so much better with root and alternative software other than HTC Sense. Obviously HTC won't support this model any longer, so I'd explore rooting if you want to continue using this phone.

Cyanogen 7 is the only option for Gingerbread in Legend. Due to the small size of system memory and Bootloader restriction, its really hard to squeeze in Gingerbread with Sense.
I am using CM7.03 with updated radio image for a more sensitive GPS. Any chance if any Legend users here uses WAZE in their phone? So far for me i cant get the GPS detected inside the app.

So far for me i cant get the GPS detected inside the app. onscreen By default, I think CM7.0.3 doesn't have a working radio image and the GPS won't work at all. Maps, iGO and Waze all didn't work for me. Go to Cyanogen - Still no GPS with stable release, 2nd post and download radio version 7.13.35.05. Put the zip file in your SD card, reboot to Recovery and flash that zip file. The GPS will work well and perhaps even your GSM signal will improve.

Yeah done that and WAZE is the only app that couldnt detect any GPS signal. So i believe that WAZE have limited support on custom ROM. Other app like Speedview on the other hand works perfectly. On my side, Maps does work perfectly.

Rooting means you unlock your phone so that you have total access. Without rooting, for example, you cannot go into system folder, after rooting, you can. Cyanogen is kinda like an OS version. Same like Windows XP, Vista, 7, they're all Windows but different version.

My screen like spoilt already now. It keeps sensing theres something touching the top right of the screen so I can't access my notifications and when I touch anywhere else, the phone thinks I'm pulling the screen down.
Weird part is, when I reset the phone, (battery out-in), then it will work until it gila again then can't.
Think I should factory resest? Planning to root as well, since the phone is already quite shit, better try some things haha nothing to lose.

Yes I will haha. I don't think need goldcard already right? I remember reading there was a app now that sort of "rooted" the phone without needing to actually root it? Not very sure though.
How do i backup my contacts and pictures etc before doing a factory reset? And sorry for the dumb question but how to factory reset?
