guys... V8 coming to my SGS... haaa....

wanna gather some info before flash... Do u:
1) factory reset before install?
2) wipe cache before install?
3) dalwik wipe before install?
4) disable lagfix before install?

Alrite....! Here i come v8... haa...

Oh.. by the way, do u know how to add the addon app into the base app? so that when we do factory reset, we won't it?

dude who.using doc rom, did u apply any tweak fr th cwm menu ?

Get the DOC's ROM v8... it is sooooooooo... fast! I tot when i was on 7.6.2 with kernel I1.2 250Hz was fast, but now... it is ubelieveable! I didnt expect to be that fast...

aiyo... GPS cannot test at this time mate, it is 11pm now.. i jz flashed to v8, u tried upgrade to it, U are guaranteed not going to regret for this..!

With DOC's... official froyo can move aside la....

i used mybackup Pro... very great app.

I suggest u before flashing to v8, do factory reset, wipe cache, dalwik wipe, also disable lagfix
so that when u flash, it is a fresh copy of fw... most issue will resolve with this method.

For APN control, try using APN on/off by curvfish... been using since day 1 of my phone. no problem at all. I also use 2g/3g by curvfish as well

Eclair recovery ==== 2e

Froyo recovery ==== 3e

So if u are on Eclair recovery, u can apply the CWM update.zip. Make sure u apply twice, then ur recovery will change to CWM... remember, must apply the same update.zip TWICE

once u are in CMW, jz follow the instruction, step by step from DOC's ROM tread in XDA

that is one extra step compare to my current setting, i m a very lazy fella :-p

my current setting, i got a widget shortcut for APN on/off at my homescreen, so i just one click, it will do the job :-p

actually it was pretty fast before i apply the lagfix, but i m kiasu lor... :-p did a Quadrant, got a 891... the bar graph is somewhere in the middle not at top, tak syiok, so gatah go and do the lagfix, jz want to get at the top bar haa... once done, it back on top hee...

For DOC's it only take less than 5 mins

I m actually waiting to flash CM, but the CM6.1 got so many bugs, so i tahan dulu lor... who know.. DOC's give such wonderful update :-p

Not trying to pull them over to DOC's la... jz sharing how good it is with the custom ROM...
actually, i always used leaked FW, but since started with DOC's, dun feel like tasting leaked FW liao haa..

patutla... the update.zip need to place at the internal sdcard... not the external

u dun need to do registry hack now, since MAL can get official froyo via kies.

Sorry to tell u that, upgrading to froyo will not grant u the accessibility to the disabled 3 button recovery.. U need to do some trick as mentioned by mengsuan earlier in order to get the 3 button recovery.

card reader? how u going to take out the internal sdcard from ur SGS to put into the card reader?
u need to use the USB cable connect to ur phone then transfer.
