As for the first feedback as a ranger, I've only included improvement needed or preferable functions after about a month using the Nokia N8 smartphone (this feedback more like a wishlist).

All these wishes are within the hardware limit, only software portion modification or revamp needed, all can be make into realistic ONLY depend on the WILL of the Nokia Team.
Home Screen User Interface:

01. Vertical scrollable home screen. (home screen will back to TOP position whenever there's a home screen switching)
- Three home screens is good enough but preferable all home screen are vertical scrollable (of course must have limited, example up to 18 widgets space).

02. Last home screen use lock (remember which is the last use home screen)
- Have an option to select to keep or not the last home screen in focus when ever the menu button been click and not just always back to the 1st home screen.

03. Instant user input acknowledgement
- User input have TOP PRIORITY, DIM/blackout the whole screen WHENEVER there's an input detected to prevent user keep on clicking.
- Include an option to enable the haptic feedback although it's in power saver mode.

04. Animation home screen wallpaper
- Can use animation wallpaper.
- Wallpaper have option to auto change with adjustable interval.

05. More accurate battery indicator
- Make the battery indicator more LINEAR in term of the battery life (currently the 7 bars seem like act in exponential).
- Increase to 10 bars indication as every bar represent 10% of the battery life.

06. Include Switch Off in the home screen Profile Selector widget
- Same as when we press the power button.

07. Home screen more customisable
- Home screen widget alignment can be in free form, maybe not totally free form but more in term of smaller alignment grid.
- This will make the N8 home screen more allsome in a creative hand.
Home Screen Widget:

01. Shortcut Widget selectable size (1/2/3/4/5 shortcut icons)
- If possible just have a single Shortcut widget where user can select how many shortcut to use.
- If cannot then give a few different Shortcut widget in the widget list, example: Single Shortcut, Double Shortcut, Triple Shortcut, Four Shortcut & Five Shortcut.

02. Scrollable Shortcut Widget
- A scrollable Shortcut bar just like the Contacts (Favorite) bar.

03. Sosial widget to include back the scrollable arrow key
- Get back the scrollable arrow key to the Sosial widget and maintain current auto scroll function.

04. All the default widget availability download from Ovi Store
- Please include all those factory default widget available as this will help whenever user do a hard reset.

05. New Widgets Manager
- A widgets manager that will have MASTER control over the ALL widgets behaviour ESPECIALLY online/offline.
- All widgets online/offline able to be set seperately (this is important for email widgets)

06. Weather Widget
- Include a default Nokia Weather Widget (since there's already Nokia weather server available within the Ovi Maps)

07. Here & Now Widget
- Include a default Nokia Here & Now Widget (this widget will self update with user set interval, good references at anytime)

08. More widget from Ovi Store
- Increase widget within the store as currently it's still some kind of short in the list.
Camera & Video:

01. PASM Manual control
- Please include manual control on the shutter speed
- Increase the shutter speed range preferable up to 30 sec (extreme useful for long exposure night shoot)

02. FCAM for Nokia N8
- If possible to port it from Maemo/Meego to make it available for Symbian^3 compatible (this really make N8 a killer camera phone)

03. HDR capability within the default camera apps
- Include HDR capability to the camera apps

04. Panorama capability within the default camera apps
- Include Panorama capability to the camera apps

05. User selectable compression quality
- Include an option for user to select the JPEG compression value

06. Touch focus
- User able to touch and select which object to be in focus

07. Menu selection overlay each other
- All menu selection are overlay to each other and NOT switching back and forward, this make do manual setting more easier.

08. 30FPS option for video recording
- Include option for 25/30 FPS video recording option

09. Continuous auto focus during video recording
- Include option for continuous auto focus for video recording

10. Touch focus lock
- User able to have touch and lock on which object to keep in focus during video recording.

11. Remember last camera setting
- Every time camera start up it will recall back the last user setting (preferable make this as an selectable option)
User Input Method:

01. Qwerty Landscape Keyboard
- Please include the qwerty keyboard in landscape mode

02. Increase Buffer Size during Input
- Please increase the size during input editing, problem face when want to editing long forum input.

03. Include the SELECT ALL in the editing option
- The Copy/Paste function won't be perfect without the SELECT ALL option this will help for editing long input.
Internet Browser:

01. Full Flash support
- It will be nice to make the browser capable to play full flash content within the web.

02. Increase Touch Accuracy
- Touch accuracy need improvement as current when try to clicking button at some webpage are EXTREME difficult ALTHOUGH already FULL ZOOM.

03. Multi Tab Support
- Make the browser multi tab capable.

04. Browser overall UI revamp
- Enhancement needed to improve the default browser UI as the current UI not so user friendly.

05. Increase Browser Stability
- Please make the browser not too easy to crash.
- Make the browser remember the last visited pages and will restore after crash.

06. Download Foler Selection
- Please give an option to select which FOLDER as the default downloaded contents goes to.
Default Apps Feedback:

01. Logs
- Please increase the Logs size list limit (face problem when the log list been flooded with network connection input and flush out other important call logs)
- Seperate the Logs if possible between Call Logs and Network Logs
- The Logs filter viewer is a nice function to have

02. Dialler
- Missing Smart Dialling function

03. Message
- Make the Outbox deffer message able to be deleted anytime

04. File Manager
- Add attribute setting function
- When open photo/video/audio files from external storage able to act continuously and NOT viewing single file by file (example viewing a folder full of photos when click on a single file it open a viewer WITH a NEXT/PREVIOUS button)
- More UI enhancement in term of multiple files selection
- More details within the file browsing (file size, modification date, attribute)

05. Photo Gallery Viewer
- Please include an option to select which folder to be viewable as default (don't thumbnail all folders)
- Include folder browsing function within the viewer as this is useful when browsing external storage.

06. Audio Player
- Please include an option to select which folder to be scan for songs as default (don't scan for all folders)
- Include folder browsing function within the viewer as this is useful when browsing external storage.
- Customisable EQUALIZER (this is something miss out compare with older touch devices)

07. FM Transmitter
- Please include an option to select ALL AUDIO OUTPUT to be transmitted through the FM Transmitter (this include Hand Free & Navigation output).

08. Conectivity
- Destination missing for multiple service provider, the destination still within the Network Selection Popup Windows but NOT FOUND within the connectivity destination folder.
- A Master control for ALL connections either ONLINE or OFFLINE (especially for internet network)

09. A Good TEXT Editor
- Default have a Note editor but it CAN'T browse and edit a simple .txt file

10. Calculator
- Please at least make it a simple scientific calculator.

11. Voice Recorder
- Please make it able to record for Stereo and highier bitrate (tested currently recorded ONLY in MONO and 64kbs although set to HIGH quality)

12. A Simple Compass App
- Please include a simple default Compass app.

13. Ovi Maps
- Please include a satelite strength indicator during navigation.
- Please change the compass indicator color during navigation to indicate the compass is actually active during navigation for right direction heading.
- The EXTRA shortcut not working (popup server invalid)

14. Ovi Store
- Please include an option for default download FOLDER for easier downloaded contents management.

15. Share
- Please include an option to share/upload photos in Highier Quality

16. Email Client
- The Email Client stop retrieving after some times (pending confirmation)

17. Alarms
- Please include multiple alarms with multiple selectable alarms sound.

18. Battery Charging Estimation
- Give an indicator of approx remaining charging time during battery charging.
Hardware Related Feedback:

01. Dead N8 Issues
- The device will dead randomly during standby/idling.
- Confirmed battery still not depleted during it happen.
- Confirmed the Hard Reset won't resolve the issue.
- Observed before it dead the phone will hang and turn off itself, later can't be turn on ANYMORE.
- Phone will also dead ALTHOUGH switch to OFFLINE mode (confirm not the RF transceiver error)
- If ever the phone can be revived, all function still working (call/message/storage/bt/wifi/gps/compass)

02. HDMI cover defect mark
- The HDMI cover if look carefully it seem have a crack mark (molding defect).

03. HDMI cover loose
- The HDMI cover seem loose and unable to fully close sometimes.

04. AMOLED Screen Dirty
- The AMOLED Screen having stains when it's displaying black (only can be observe in total darkness room)
- The stains is UNDER the top layer and impossible to be clean up.

05. AMOLED Screen Color Blending
- The AMOLED Screen having difficulty to display a proper color blending especially those black shaded color tone.
So far this would be all the feedback I have on hand as currently my beloved N8 still in ICU...
Hope these information will be helpful for the Nokia Team to tackle...
