@fruitie somehow to me the dof is too thin, seems to be be barely an inch, too much of the tofu is out of the dof in my opinion.

Far worse than that, right after I posted the photo of the tofu, all my photos and videos in my memory card just vanished into thin air without me doing anything. Belum lagi sempat backup today's and last Thu's shots all gone...
Now recovering, thank God there is recovery files freeware... Wish me luck.

lets say i wanna get a 500d, but i dont want to use the 18-55mm kit lens... for the same category (standard zoom iinm) and similar focal length what would be the best lens? any brands.. it'll be better if it defers only a few hundreds..

thx for the inputs guys i dont know much about lens honestly.. so i just want to know if theres good alternative to the kit lens.. you know, better ones but not stretching too much budget.. so i take it, there isnt really any alternative.. besides the ones raptor just mentioned.. thx again

One of my new colleagues also wants to berjinak-jinak with photography hobby. Recently we went for company's CSR project and obviously I brought my DSLR along together with my flash. He saw mine and said, "Hey, your setup is the setup I want to get too."
I told him to buy one then, but he scared my setup will be too advanced for him, a beginner. I told him I'm still a beginner, no issue one. Then he said he is afraid he will be hangat2 tahi ayam and throws this hobby halfway through. I told him it is very unlikely to happen, he will end up buying more stuffs than me because this is a poisonous hobby.
Nowadays he always comes to my workstation to play with my DSLR.

Anyway, my colleague wants to let go his Sigma 28mm f/1.8 macro to me, I'll play with it next Monday.
