hey guys! I got great news! Today I was walking with my SLR around my neck then suddenly a girl from e.vogue (saloon) asked me if I'd like to be their photographer on their modeling event this Sunday.. I agreed, so guys any tips... I only own a Tripod, 1855 Kitty and Canon 300EZ (old flash)..
So I need all my EOS brothers tip on this event...
erk... sounds like they are desperate.... no offence tho... You can always refer to flickr via portrait photoshoot or maybe youtube? probably they have like pro model... well at least they ought to have..
and best of luck
One for on the go abit overcooked

Well, not actually desperate... But I kinda flirt with them, I aimed to get their portrait but ended up they offer me to come for their event... Anyway, u still haven't give me tips. But thanks for the support still
Well like I said go to flickr and see some of the photoshoot and try to copy it. The composition, the pose, and the light. Other than that, you need to prepare of what kind of shot you wanted like list down the shots.
A question... is the autofocus speed relies solely on the body or the lens too?
Because I'm kinda a moment kind of person... kinda hard to stay sharp on focus when the subject always move then again I want to capture the moving and expression they made on the spot..
so once again body or lens that control the speed of AF? and what body to be precise that can give me the edge of snapping those kind of pictures?

lol.... thats why.... been thinking if either 5d mark ii or 7d can do it....
I mean.. I love to snap moments of my frens having fun... somehow getting picture sharp for the sake of moment really can't be done with 550d clearly....and yeah... kinda dislike when have to force them to stay still and such
been testing on this lil fella... as a practice since he always moves alot
at last I gave up and give him abit massage on his back... then he can stop and lay down at 1 place

Yes, like what Sniper said, forget about the 5D2 if you want quick autofocus. It's exactly the same as your 550D. It has an additional 6 invisible AF assist points for AI Servo but the rest is the same.
If you want fast, get a 7D or a used 1D series.
been thinking of getting a FF body since... it is nice... somehow the af is... abit on the downside but.. for 7d it is nice since it capture fast... but somehow i find it something missing when comparing between the IQ of 5dm2 and 7d....
this 1 is quite nice guide... love the way he explains everything

I know ai-servo can give effect like moving cars background damn bokeh but subject almost perfect clear.. But what does Ai-Focus effect on my subject when Im doing fashion walkway??
ai servo is something like follow focus... the bokeh... is done by you following the car movement. Seen it in youtube by Taylor
I am not a fan of shooting models. Maybe because it looks weird for a female to shoot another female with a bunch of guys. I don't really like staged poses, prefer candid and unintended shots.
lol me too kinda prefer candid and portrait shots
well this lady might disagree with you while at KLPF only bring nifty fifty so... took pictures of people who is taking model's pictures

I use One Shot mode most of the time, unless I'm shooting sports. Then I'll use AI Servo. AI Servo is predictive focus. It's the mode to use when you're shooting anything moving.

AI Focus is a "smart" focus system whereby the camera switches between One Shot and AI Servo. If the subject moves, the camera will change to AI Servo automatically. If it's still, it's One Shot.
so how is it when shooting using AI servo... does it good? or blur blur 1?
What is the meaning of explore? in flickr? I mean I've seen alot people alot of "EXPLORED" in their description... i mean most of them have it? is it that they get a new way of photography or?
hi deodorant, thanks for your comments. I actually intend to find out at which focal length i shoot most with so i can make plans to get a prime. Been reading about primes and how people has said that the 50mm f1.8 for RM300++ is good start. Just wondering if I'm a fan of 50mm before I go out to the camera shop.
50mm 1.8 is a practice equipment... you can't get wrong with it... I mean the IQ is good for rm300 glass. Can see my humble flickr account that 90% using 50mm 1.8
