Heya Guys Just another song I composed like for a duration of 30 minutes. Really bad guitar playin whistling.gif  whistling.gif  biggrin.gif . Just wanna share someother cool effect It can produce. Give a little bit of panning. Mainly use the tube screamer stompbox for that crunchy effect!

Nah the playing is ok, some nice tone you got there. thumbup.gif What guitar are you using anyway? thumbup.gif Straight into the toneport? A little mixing and a bass guitar and the track would sound bloody good. thumbup.gif

The slow connection at my uni hinders the ability to upload songs, but u can have a look and dload either from i-bands or myspace. I'd recommend i-bands as it's faster to dload. U can also add us to ur myspace accounts if u wish. biggrin.gif

Pardon the poor recording quality. sad.gif

Do leave ur feedback and comments as well. Thanx & keep on rockin'! flex.gif

I only used Fruityloops for this song... the samples were made from the internal plugin synths... one particular plugin that i love is Sytrus... try it out, there are loads of Sytrus presets in FL that just sound awesome!

actually making electronica song is quite easy, provided you know what type of sounds to put in the song. usually these are the layer of sounds in an electronic song:

1 - drums (you don't need much... a simple 4/4 kick, some hihats and snare/clap. and cymbals of course...
2 - bassline (you can get away with only one bar of a simple bassline throughout the song)
3 - synth lines (can be repetitive with minimal variation)
4 - atmosphere (you know, the background soft sounds)
5 - various effects here n there

but how you arrange and what type of sounds you use can totally change the type of electronic music you make. too much synth, and it becomes cheesy ahbeng techno. too much drum elements and it can turn to jungle house.

this is a very good guide in creating songs - http://www.tweakheadz.com/recipes.html

MetalHead : errr....
playing one note every two seconds ? i'm sure you can do better than this... and also... what critic do you expect ? you could have add a rythm background, you could have overdub the theme with a octave or a fifth second guitar, you could have played the theme with all bends and slide, adding some effects..but you didn't do any of these. so there's not much to comment about.

so which ever your technical abilities (which were okay last time I heard), only one thing strikes my mind : LAZY !

Huzai :
pretty good !!
i'll go to the critics directly, because praises won't bring you much, and that's not my style biggrin.gif i divide the song in 3 parts
1) the keyboards in the 2nd part are not blending well with the metal guitar rythm
2) the rythm guitars in the 3rd part are very good, but maybe a bit too "deaf", too deep ? I like it though ... yet.. i dunno, maybe a more biting in them wouldn't hurt ? just suggesting.
3) in 3rd part again, i feel like the end of the riff (with the superb 'arythmic' lick) there's a little mixing-mistake, it's like i can hear a "blank" or "track transistion" that is not super clean.

now let's talk about Pod... which settings do you use ? pleeease laugh.gif i'm dying to find such a deep metal sound. which guitar / pickups / pickups position are you using ? thx if you mind to share...

pix, sorry to have let u down...it's not meant to be a fast song or fill with effect and background rhythm ...i actually meant to record it dry, with only the guitar...originally the song was play with er-hu (chinese violin)... the point lies in the timing, in which i think is quite accurate...but thank you for having a high expectation on me...i promised the next time i'm posting here i'll give you what u expect....

p/s: - yesss i'm a lazy bum indeed ....

huzai, nice song....i really like the guitar tone ... thumbup.gif ...

Finally, my turn to post a song muahaha!!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
http://eongxien.multiply.com/music
Titled Fulfilling Dream. smile.gif

I encoded it in both MP3 (1st file) & OGG (2nd file) formats, the sound quality of the OGG is much better than that of mp3 but if you couldn't be bothered with downloading a 19MB file, the mp3 will do. smile.gif

Since it's 6 1/2 minutes long it might be draggy for some, nevertheless... enjoy! thumbup.gif Comments and critics are much welcomed! smile.gif

Oh btw, feel free to add me at Multiply. thumbup.gif

i've been out of the guitar world for quite a while, concentrating on electro music. as such, this comment can be considered a non-guitarist's opinions smile.gif

so when i heard your song, led zep, i feel refreshed! honestly... from the Little Wing intro right to the end, i find myself just flowing with the song.

yeah it's a little draggy for some, but to me it's fine.

i like it. apart from that i dunno what to comment heheh

Good stuff . I have to admit that I like the song but some part need to redo, the reverb abit to much for me especially at beginning or maybe the whole track.

The clean part at the beginning to hendrix, if you create your own style much more better.

Practise more on your;

picking = can see unconsistentcy on your picking.
Bending = some bending not so smooth

Over all i like the song. Keep it up.

Huzai
I like your stuff, overall agree with PIX comment.
Give guitar more bite.
Waiting the complete track.

Thanks a lot for your comments, I'ill work on those 2 aspects. thumbup.gif thumbup.gif Yup, I soaked all the tracks with a lot of reverb, even the drums. Kinda give it a more ballad/80s feel heh. Another reason is that my humbucker sounds a little harsh on the treble side (Not that it's piercing, it sounds very raw), so the reverb sort of even stuff out lol.

Thanks a lot for your comments again. thumbup.gif
