Tips : u can just play vids from PC or laptop directly to Samy TV. On your PC, just right-click the vid > play to > samy tv model.

But this approach only direct play certain file format like AVI, WMV and MPG.

if u have iPhone or Android phones, the SmartTV features will be easy to browse because there is Samsung Remote Apps that can replace the stock remote to type using the QWERTY keyboard in the apps. Else, typing letter-by-letter using the stock remote is troublesome (must use T9 predictive input...). U will hate to use the SmartTv due to the keyboard entry headaches...

Eh I just found this out.
Will try it when I get home.

BTW am loving my SmartTV. Youtube is pretty awesome, especially in 3D. Plus it plays almost everything I throw at it.

I'm looking for a new 40" TV. I was looking at LCD at first but now considering LED also. Main use for astro (non HD), 720p / 1080p / avi / rmvb movies... Considering Samsung LED UA40D5000 or LCD LA40D550. Which is better?

both series 6 and 7 malaysia model do not support rmvb, not sure about series 8.
some sources fom china and taiwan forum saying that only series 6 does not support rmvb, series 5, 7 and 8 supported. if this is the case, those people who bought series 5, 7 and 8 will have the hope of supporting rmvb by upgrading firmware from china samsung.
i was told that samsung purposely remove the rmvb codec from malaysia model which is why our tv display codec not found when playing rmvb file.
