I have enabled game mode. but i think the calibration should be done on the motion plus feature. what is the best calibration for motion plus in ur opinion?

Appreciate it smile.gif

Actually I've not done much calibration because my 40" is only a few weeks old. But on games like battlefield, crysis, uncharted 2, I basically use movie mode and have never faced the blur issue, sorry I can't be of more help.

Hi guys,

I have just purchased a Samsung UA46D6000. I plugged in my PS3 console using an HDMI cable. I'm having problems with games that have high speed picture motion. The picture becomes very blurry even when the 3D mode is off.
Any advice?

Thanks,
M

Probably due to the low frequency of the panel

Doesn't make sense since I don't have issues. And I've put in games that are fast moving, lots of particle effects etc. But then again maybe cause my screen is smaller (UA40D6000).

Smaller screen give less effect. But should not be too noticeable too.

Are you saying the black tint of plasma still much better than a decent LED on current market?
*
Yes definately, compared with LED/LCD TV without dimmable LED.

Not just the black, but for deeper color and contrast.

An LED backlight without Local dimming technology is no more better than a LCD ccfl backlight other than boosted brightness but NOT contrast ratio.

THE ONLY THING that can beat a plasma is LED/LCD TV with arrays of RGB Tri-color LEDs backlight not white LEDs. http://gizmodo.com/5013722/sony-hosts-xbr8...-guess-who-wins

Did you turn on Motionplus while gaming? Turn it off. Gaming console can generate real 60fps at 720p.

Motionplus only good for 24fps and 30fps video content. Average interpolated frames created is around 50fps but pulldown 2:2 to 100hz, but its still around 50-60fps only.

I thought this black tint problem on nowadays new LED/LCD is almost on par with plasma.
You are right if you talk about during 3 years back. (Your link article is posted on 2008 too smile.gif )
Now even Pioneer Kuro (Those day favorite plasma) already stop production.

Finally, my Samy 40D6600 is in my living room. Got it from SenQ @ RM3499 - RM120 = RM3379. Comes with four (4) 3D glasses. 2 in the box. 2 more FREE offer by SenQ.

The RM120 rebate is because I upgrade my Astro to B.yond.

Watching movies in 3D with MKV format is superb! Worth every penny...

Plus, the Samsung Remote Apps for iPhone works brilliantly... Watching YouTube in HD is "wow!" (provided connection is high-speed & stable)

Next upgrade is.... OLED (only if it is below RM3K.... in 5 years time....?)

My rate for this model is 4 / 5 stars.... (Only the default sound system is average...)

you didnt't state any kind of LED TV for comparison.

To be on par with plasma black you have to reduce your backlight volume, thus contrast do suffers too. This is true for non-dimming LED.

Black tint still suffers at odd viewing angles. IPS type panel reduces this effect, but its still there. These panels are only on high end to mid models.

My post refers to a RGB LED technology by sony. Samsung has never produce any Tri-color LED not even a prototype.

Conclusion, ONLY LED TV with Local Dimming technology can compete with plasma black.

Samsung Series 8 and Series 7 is equipped withocally dimmable LED + Lookup processor = MicroDimming they called it.

Series 6 and below blacks not so much better than regular LCD TV, perhaps too little.

Nice!

Actually I'm curious as to the difference between yours and my UA40D6000. Does yours have the 2d to 3d converter?

Yup. But not deep dimension as the active glass 3D. Watching "Avatar" 1080p 3D is the best so far
