My point here is after sales service.
The stock of coz will go back Samsung. But the value added service from a shop tat makes a purchase experience better. As such, senheng will go to your house collect the TV and send it over to Samsung FOC.

Do Samsung send people over and collect the TV? Any charges?

I phoned them, these what they told me:
QLED they do as what they have told, they even bring u a free gift (wireless keyboard) and guide u how to use it. For Qled or higher end model they will collect it for warranty services. Other model, they said "depends".
Yeah... I'm don't want my money "stucked" ...

PM me bro.
Thank you.
*
Nonsense. Nowadays if TVabove a certain size under warranty (e.g Samsung above 32 inches) the Manufacturers technicians will come directly to your house to repair. Why so troublesome ask Senheng carry your TV up and down and risk damage and also wait few weeks for it to be repaired.

Isn't it better Samsung come directly to your house to repair on the spot.

Model MU7000 65"
I contacted Samsung. They help me to look for it. And some sale person contacted me back with this quotation and its a roadshow unit.
*
MU7000 is not a 2017 replacement for last year KS7000.

It is only HDR10 compatible, not full HDR10 certified. It only has about half the peak brightness required by hdr10, although it has the 10 bit WCG.

It also does not have Quantum Dot.

MU7000 in Malaysia is MU8000 in US. it's a 120hz panel if i recall correctly.
Although if based on US MU8000 model being equivalent to our local MU7000, the refresh rate still wont exactly be the same. Their system is 120hz/motion rate 240hz (US Samsung website), whereas our MU7000 (Mal Samsung website) is rated at motion rate 200hz. So I presume Native Refresh is 100hz.

Even last year's local KS7000 is only rated at motion rate 200hz (100hz panel) compared to US KS8000 motion rate 240hz (120hz panel).

Also lacking, the MU series don't have Quantum dot compared to last year's KS series.

Still depends on your own eyes at the end of the day.

I was lucky to be able to test a 65KS9000 vs a 65C6 OLED side by side, both calibrated and in HDR still felt the C6 is too dark and dim for my liking, not as vibrant as KS9000 hence I bought the KS9000 instead. Although its undeniable the black levels are unmatched.

Call me crazy but I really didn't like the OLED at the time. The cons of an LED were much more bearable to me than the cons of an OLED at the time of my review, mainly the KS9000 vs the C6.

Of course they have rectified some of those cons/issues with the 7 series and it got that little bit brighter but still too dim for me. Crossing fingers the 8 series will be able to output >1000 nits and clear out the kinks completely then I'll ditch my KS9000 into the bedroom and upgrade.
*
The Lg OLED had what you call ABL feature (Automatic Backlight Limiter). Under certain situations the ABL will kick in automatically and dim the screen. A lot of people complained about that feature in earlier models , being too aggresive. This feature maybe has to do with either Preventing Image Retention or maybe to preserve the lifespan of Oled display. Just an uneducated guess so pls don't quote me.

Even HRD10 allow Oled to be less bright to get the certification (around 600 nits brightness compared to Led/Lcd 1000 nits).

For later/current Oled models I think LG set the ABL to be less agressive.

Haha, All blind men leading the other.

If so easy just connect 3D Bluray play player and magically play 3D movies on any 2D TV, then why they need to sell expensive 3D TV in the first place.

The TV itself must also be able to support 3D.

Briefly

1) for Passive 3D, the TV screen itself has a special filter that polarizes each line of pixels on the screen. In other words the odd lines are polarised differently than the Even lines. Only with the Passive 3D glasses (also with separate polarisation for each eye) will you be able to see the two different Left and Right images separately on each eye.

A 2D TV won't have this filter.

2) For Active 3D (diff tech), first the TV must at least preferably be 120Hz (60hz each eye for comfortable viewing), and the TV itself must know how to input the left and right image at double rate and display one after the other at combined 120hz so that your battery operated Active Shutter glasses can sync in tandem with the TV, and see only the Left and Right signal respectively on separate eyes.

A 2D Tv won't be able to do that. Even if the TV is 120Hz, it still won't know how to deal with the double rate 3D signal from the bluray player/media player unless it has 3D support circuitry built in.

However, 3D movies will be still able to play in 2D on your TV if it detects your TV is not 3D capable.

For those common 3D SBS movies downloads (not the 'true' approved 3D format , in layman terms), it is slightly different variation, but concept is similar. You will see a Left and Right Picture on your 2D TV side by side, but you won't be able to combine the two images together if your TV is not 3D supported.

There is a layer of HDMI in between player and TV.

Maybe a 2D TV does not support the HDMI interface differences for a 3D output from the player ? So the 3D output becomes distorted when played on the 2D TV.
*
As far as HDMi cable concerned, just need a good quality HDMI cable for 3D. That's because the bandwidth of sending a 3D image data at higher than normal rate requires a good quality cable.

Those so called certified HDMI 1.4 3d cables, just marketing.

Anyway, lets give it a try...

Can = oklo.. good lo...
Cannot = nvm lo.. wont die one...

I really wonders hows it works... I can foreseen the crappy image of dual layer overlaying each other as what u all mentions.
But for real 3d tv, about the same ma... mayb additional layer...

anyway, lets give it a try...

On a 2D TV you won't even be able to see the overlapping image from a real 3D source. The player will most probably just automatically play the 2D version. (On SBS 3D source you will only see the left and Right image Side-By-Side) on a 2D TV, but you can't do anything else.

Only on 3D TV can you see overlapping images. That's because the two separate Left Right images are being displayed together. That means 3D is working.

Your naked eyes won't be able to separate the images and see 3D because

1) Your eyes are not Polarised (for Passive 3D TV screen),

2) Your eyes can't open and shut alternately at 60 times x2 a second and sync in Tandem with the Active 3D TV screen.

Only with special glasses can they do the work for you.

Thanks for the lesson as well

I have not tried 3D in my life except those days the red n blue comic type

i recently played a file which gave me the option of 3d or 2d, out of curiosity i picked 3D, it show left n right image
is this stereoscopic 3d? my tv shud be ku 5500 , is it possible for me to try out 3D?
any specific glasses i shud get?

Thanks again shifu

Those cheap ancient red/blue 3D can work anywhere, even on printed materials. Just have to find the matching Red/Blue glasses. No time to explain how it works.

But coming back to the Left/Right image you mentioned when you play the file on TV, is it 2 clear images side by side occupying each half of the TV screen? If so it is most probably an SBS 3D file. But don't get your hopes up, because it is not in 3D mode yet.

Only a 3D TV will have an option to activate and combine the two images so that they overlap (interlace) into one image (Passive 3D) or in the case of Active 3D , alternate the Left and Right Image (Full resolution, no interlace) so quickly (120 times per second) that your eyes only see a continuous overlapping Blur.

Only when you see the overlapping image, is it in 3D. Only then will the Special 3D glasses be able to view them in 3D.

However if you have one of those VR Glasses/Headsets (Those cheap ones only cost less than RM100/-) for inserting your Mobile Phone to view 3D , then you don't even need a 3D TV (Passive or Active) to see SBS 3D because using this method, the Left and Right image are positioned directly in front of your Left and Right Eyes respectively.

By doing this, the Left and Right is separated naturally due to the fact that the image is so close that your Left Eye can only see the Left image, and Vise Versa, your Right Eye can only see the Right Image. That way you get the 3D effect without any need for modern Technology

If in the old days if you have one of those 3D viewmaster gadgets you will understand.

You can always try the VR Googles. Just play the SBS 3D movie on your phone, as is, no need for any conversion to overlapping images. Insert your phone into the googles and wear them. Fine tune the VR adjustment according to the size of your phone, and you are done. Instant 3D.

You must be thinking of getting a second one , probably a Gigantic size. Must be super rich with Big house to accommodate the size. Can I borrow some cash from you to buy a Home Theatre Set ? biggrin.gif

1.2 m is just about 4 feet. Check again, the chart is in Feet not Meter. I think maybe you mean 12 feet.

------------------------------

Ok, I rechecked the earlier chart, it's not the same one as above. Something wrong with the earlier one.

Pray tell, how you managed to connect your Speaker 3.5 mm jack to ks7000 when there is no 3.5mm output on ks7000? doh.gif

Owh ic.. I though the jack below the usb port at back of the tv is theĀ  3.5mm jack. Sorry. So what do u guys suggest to solve this prob? Get the 3.5mm converter to optical? Or anything else.
*
That connector at the back is some sort of service connector not for audio.

Get an Optical to Analog 3.5mm output connector Converter.

But be careful, not sure if they downmix the full channels to stereo or they just output the L/R channels only, which means no center channel (voice) if original source is 5.1.
---------------------

Come to think of it you can always select the PCM option at the Tv to downmix first for you before output to the converter.

The 3.5mm connector at the back is meant for service engineers. On the quantum dot displays for 2016 and 2017 that port is used for autocal via Calman. I hope to try it out in the 65KS9000 soon.
*
I read if you go into the service menu by using the convential remote (combo keypress) you can enable 2 extra profile mode for calibration and saving the settings, Cal1 and Cal2.

But LOL ES6220 build quality so damn good. The panel and the back of the TV is "screwed" while KS7000 is glued LOL.
*
I don't think the back of ks7000 is glued. How are they going to repair or change the panels if the back is glued. You must have been reading a lot of those foreign nonsense comments. Those people sure can make absurd assumptions, lol.

Actually I would think the back uses Clips that hold the back cover in place. It's when the clips are of low quality and break or wrong size (loose) that cause the back to detach from the main body.

My new ks7000 got vertical on arrival. There is bend at top that causing this. I checked from service menu and confirm it is not display unit.so the question is to keep it and call samsung to place panel and hopefully can fix the little bend on rop bezel.

Not sure worth or not or refund and move on. What do you think?
*
At rm4,000/- it is probably display set. They could have reset the counter in Service menu.
