QUOTE(BenSow @ Nov 16 2010, 05:32 PM) On shashinki website the lens same model but price got difference and behind model name got the word (import) what difference is that? Means it is not local unit by Futuromic. Parallel import in, if got problem you need to send back to your seller.

What you mean by focus lock? Continuous focus? Exposure control? Auto or manual? If manual, exposure is controlled by you, not the camera. Set the ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed to get the exposure you want.

I rephrase again ><" Sorry i tot nikon d3100 cannot focus lock like "Focus can be locked by pressing shutter-release button halfway (single-servo AF) or by pressing AE-L/AF-L button" Ohhh okay , now i can understand more about exposure control d . thanks you ! what is front focus and back focus anyway ? Then what do you guys think of those " Close-Up +4 Lens Filter" , "Wide Lens Converter 0.5X + Macro for DSLR", "Raynox DCR-250" stuff for macro?
Since its cheaper I reckon the images wont be as good as 1:1 macro lens but in what way?
Thanks
Added on November 17, 2010, 10:54 amAnd with the reverse lens method its quite a hassle right? You have to keep holding the lens...

Alright thanks Means you focus on point A, but your focus actually a little bit in front of the back making your focus point not sharp. This is usually due to lens or body calibration issue.

You have to keep holding the lens... For me it's not a hassle once you got the right spot. But the image produced are not as sharp as those macro lenses. Or you can buy a reverse ring for that purpose also.

You have to keep holding the lens... Not as good, but considering its a few hundred bux vs. a thousand and extra weight, its "good enough" if you ask me. Just be mindful how you use it within its limits and you'll be fine. I use a +4 closeup on my 50/1.8 too. Gets me to about 1:2 mag roughly. Make sure you don't have anything in focus at the edges, since the CA and coma is bad there, but center 2/3rds of the frame is tack sharp. I just use a cheap +4 singlet closeup, not funny macro converter etc, which is actually almost the same but sells for more and has more distortion typically.

Yeap, but you have to control the aperture ring though. BTW I feel regret to sell of my 18-55 because i can no longer take reverse macro photos. the 18-105 is very hard to take macro photo This post has been edited by fabianz03: Nov 17 2010, 02:13 PM
