I'm having the same issue with the BW Expert also lol. Ironically buying the ducky would be cheaper than what I paid for the BW, considering the only reason I got it is because it was the cheapest mech keyboard available locally!

Think I'll be grabbing a pair of cherry browns for me and another friend, anyone else interested in getting one?

That's outta my price budget, as much as the mixed keys sound like a good idea.

Was actually looking at this: http://global.pchome.com.tw/?mod=item&func...0X&ROWNO=2&tm=u

Am I missing anything?

Personally i don't like that Ducky 1087.

Why i think Leopold EK looks better than the Ducky 1087

QUOTE
The FC200R is Leopold’s own mechanical tenkeyless keyboard. The keyboard was actually designed by the very same person who originally designed the Filco. Re-made from scratch in cooperation with the Japanese brand Archiss many of its features are based on customer feedback and ideas such as:

    * Detachable USB cable
    * Better stabilizers for the bigger keys
    * More durable keycaps
    * Only optional branding/logos - no print or logo on the case to keep a sleek look

1. the rounded led lights on Ducky is fugly. I much prefer the Leopold's (which looks exactly like the lighting on the Ducky 9008. But like i said; if your intending to use your own keycaps; the Filco may be better in that regard.)

2. The leopold uses the same casing as the Filco but is more refine as in the side edges are rounded off which looks great. Also the casing may be better than the Ducky in the sense that the keys are burrowed down deeper into the keyboard; than compared to a Ducky 1087 that sticks out more. It was Panda or someone who pointed this out. Panda says this problem applies to the Dk-9008 i'm getting :/ I will just have to see in person if this will be ok with me or not before i can comment further.

3. Keycaps on the leopold also are pbt laser etched and judging from the pictures looks much clearer than the dull white of the ducky. More tests need to be done to check on durability doh.gif but this may take time before users can report ....

4. I don't particularly like leopold and ducky logos; but the EK leopold option has the kb WITHOUT the logo. So that is a big plus over the Ducky.

5. Underneath the keyboard; i don't particularly like the Leopold look for the rubber feet. Ducky looks better to me doh.gif

Other than that; the Ducky and Leopold are pretty much the same in terms of features like usb connector; NKRO; 3 choices of mechanical switches etc etc .....

So thats why i said Leopold overall is better.

PS: i've also read panda and white rice's review of the dk-1987 and wasn't particularly impressed doh.gif

This is Laggy-Gaga from GH; Group Buy DoubleShot Key Italian Red Filco kb. Looks much better than the dk-1087 and solves having crappy filco pad printed keys.

Does the Leopold come with 104 key version?

Added on December 9, 2010, 5:39 pmWhat are the advantages/disadvantages of buying from vr-zone and PChome?

Does the PChome only come with the version with Chinese lettering?

Yes i think they have a 104 key version. But i am not sure if elitekeyboards are getting those. The one their stocking up on is the 10keyless version without the fugly Leopold logo.

so if you get the Leopold 104 key version; it will have the logo on it. I don't know whether the 104 has pbt laser etched keys like the 10keyless EK is getting. Another question is; does the 104 key version use the same recessed casing like the Filco ?

His link had mixed cherry keys, PBT keys, some cable management and option to choose english only or mixed english/chinese keys. It also costs nearly double the price the one I quoted.

PCHome has some models with pure English lettering, use google translate and look at the dropdown box next to the add to cart buttons to see if that is offered.

Strongly considering it. The cheapest model (the 2190TWD one) should cost 240MYR after conversion, unless PayPal's a b**** with currency conversion fees.

^Looks nice but I'd personally can't do without a numpad.

Anyway moogle, what are your opinions on this Ducky versus the vr-zone MO one?

You mean the pricing ???

Well i haven't seen; but i am guessing PChome would be cheaper than the SG MO (my guess).

I heard something about PCHOME kbs mostly only have them with Chinese letterings (for the Duckys anyway); and only some have English letters.

I don't think they have the same dk-9008 cherry brown model with only English letterings at pchome; but that is just my guess from what i may have recalled from someone elses quote.

Yeah, somehow they call Cherry Blue as green... weird.

vr-zone's price is very expensive but got black-on-black keycaps...

Added on December 9, 2010, 7:32 pmSorry.. PChome also got black on black.

Why is this Ducky so much cheaper compared to others?

The normal Black on Black costs USD106, and the PBT ones are USD128.

This is just USD68...

Btw @Moogle Stiltzkin, yeah you're right. Leopold's logo is ugly lol.
