I think you probably get around 20% to 30% improvement for 5870 to GTX580

i think wit the release date of 6950/70 being this close, it would b stupid to buy a gtx580 without even checking out Cayman 1st.

Wait for the Radeon HD6900-Series.

Because the releasing date is near too. Sometime, you might get price cut because AMD and Nvidia is competing like hell.

hmmm could not wait any longer so just went and bought a second card for crossfiring my 5850 since its only cost me rm599 for power color card.

i thought the media says that releasing date for hd6900 are delayed..nah...i hope they just bluffing...just hope they can get at least 25% performance increase for the same die size (but cayman die size maybe more)

I heard GeForce GTX580 costs around RM 1500+-.
I hope Radeon HD6950 is RM 1000+- while Radeon HD6970 is around RM 1200+-. LOL. Of course, from Sapphire and Power Color. These brands are cheaper. ASUS will be overpriced.

Actually I'm quite shock that Nvidia 580 is even cheaper than 480. It will then force AMD to restrict their price below RM1500 if they want to get the sales. The price is also not to expensive. Right now we still do not know whether 6970 can beat 580 or not. Thats why AMD needs to delay it and tune it even higher to beat 580 O.o.

Even 5970 got its price cut already. I think is around 1.5k as well. Man... Too many choices for those who are getting high performance card.

But the TDP is really make me , that kind of power hunger really scare me haha.

while thinking about the power consumption..
it's holding me back to think about the highend gpus at the moment..
but at least it's good though rather that CFing..

gtx580 only useful upgrading from 5850 n below haha

after 1 year 580 only win in 2-3 games compared to 5970.. single card powerconsumption also higher abit which is a failed if compared to amd. but definitely had turned over a new leaf from their own 480

manage to get 1ghz core and 4444mhz on memory

seems low, maybe coz using pci-e x16 v1.0

anyone with 6850/6870 want share result?
