Tempeture increased and cause my keyboard and the steel interface on left hand side become very hot. Just open the game for 20 minute and experience this....like this canot play for long timeĀ  T.T
Temperature is around 70 C on that moment...if overheated can claim warranty ?
*
70-80c is not overheat (load).
The temperature will probably go stagnant @ +/- 80c.

70-80c is not very hot (load), considering our room temperature @ 30c+ and air-cooling with puny hsf in the notebook.
You can't claim warranty because it is not overheat.
Don't panic.

this is close to my hardisk benchmark (which is same with notebookcheck's review):

i m suspecting your slow shutdown got something to do with processes that refuse to terminate, that is why Windows request you to force shutdown. it's probably nothing wrong with the HDD performance.

try get the name of process that always force you to "force terminate" and get rid of 'em is probably the way to go for speedier shutdown...

ps: thanks for pointing that eRecovery will only wipe C and not D... i m not sure about that...

Under the keyboard, there is a plastic cover + palm rest.
Plastic is not good heat conductor.
The motherboard is located underneath plastic cover. The motherboard does not have any direct contact on the keyboard.
The main heat source, heatsink fan & CPU, is located on the other side of the motherboard (facing down).
So, something is not right if you find the keyboard is so darn hot.

Read the temperature of your both GPU and CPU again, if it's 70-80c, it's just can't be "damn hot".

May I know yours is 3820TG or 4820TG?

As lee said, it looks like the crash of driver due to overclocking.

As you don't overclock the GPU, it could be software issues.

Meanwhile, update the bios too.
Just want to minimize the possibilities.

So, update bios & install new driver.
Tell us how it runs then.

Recommend to upgrade to Catalyst 11.1 Mobility from AMD website. This driver should be more reliable and I get a few more FPS in many recent games. No brightness key lost as well. No temperature increased. A worth while update.

Make sure you change BIOS to discrete graphic before installing. I had problem using the installer, but installing it using "ATISetup -install" did the trick nicely. I am now using the latest ATI driver and so far, everything work nicely.

^You need to extend within 90 days from purchase, else..
To purchase Acer Extended Warranty (AEW) after 90 days, customer must send in product to Highpoint Service Network Sdn Bhd for a product inspection at a nominal fee of RM80.

The standard 1 years is International Traveller Warranty...
The extra 2 years after extension is local...
