My baby head became quite long after he was vacuumed out. Lasted that long head shape for like 2 to 3 months before it became normal looking.

Not sure if i have info as I'm also scouting around..but as for my friend who recently blesses with a baby boy at PUSRAWI (Pusat Rawatan Islam, Jalan Tun Razak) The cost was about 3K for a 3Days 2 nights stay, normal delivery, no epidural (which cost RM500 extra if required).

suggestion for each listing can we split :
1.normal delivery
2.c-section

so expecting parents can look into what kinda budget they're expecting

Woot...

If you ask me, I would advise you to book the doctor and do a c-sect or induced birth before Feb arrive.

CNY is around the corner, and if unlucky, wanna give birth on CNY, charges are likely double or triple. Not only that, if got complication, need to wait for doctor.

Most would stay around 3D2N if they do a C-sect if everything is according to plan. So why risk the unwanted additional financial burden.

Added on December 30, 2010, 1:47 amBTW,

Instead of discussing with us, why not ask your wife gynae? You should discuss with her about the charges so that you dont get rip off blur blur.

I did my homework before my wife delivery and ask the doctor about the financial estimate for natural, c-sect and even the worse possible outcome before deciding. There's a lot more to spend after the baby was born so plan carefully.

Another interesting thing that TS can add is that..how much does it cost for each hospital if a couple requested for an inducement on a particular day? I heard that they have a specific rate like for public holiday/festival/religious dates..

Normally if you're working in any insurance company in Malaysia, you can claim insurance. Or if your company's benefits has pregnancy claim.
Besides that, if you are working in a private hospital, there's hospitalisation benefits (for staff) as well. Let's just say, for example, Senior Executive (Managerial Level) is just one par below Chief Executive (Board Level) but the treats are all well. Couldn't ask for more...LOLZ!

Are you getting a confinement lady? Double charge during CNY. Easily 6k+.

Yalor, DSH is very expensive and not recommended at all. My friend also delivered there and during hari raya (possibly emergency c-sect), bill came up to 12k. That was almost 3 years ago in 2007.

My wife delivered last year (OCT) in UMSC, single room 3days2night, natural with epidural (failed)->emergency c-sect (somemore after working hours, around 7pm) inclusive on baby care about 8k++.

I think some of the private hospital are charging ridiculous pricing. My wife initially had the pregnancy visit at DSH but we changed to UMSC after the doc scare us with down syndrome. In fact, when we did the DS test at the xxxxx (I cant recall the name of the specialist, located in TTDI there), doctor question why we wanna do the test cos my wife and I were so young. This was double confirmed when we changed to Dr Eugene who also question the findings of the gynae in DSH. For me, I never bothered at all after googling up the issue but my wife is restless and I did what I could possibly can do comfort her since its our first child.

Yeah, DSH very expensive, if not for my wife's claimable monthly pre-natal visits (DSH is her company panel) we wouldn't consider it. BTW, how old are you? My sis 38 yet her private clinic doc did not recommend any DS tests.

I delivered my son at Sarmukh in Setapak for about RM4k+ (C-Sec) in 2009. At that time, normal delivery was about RM1.5k.

I was planning for normal but ended up C-Sec as son was overdue for 10 days and his head is not engaged yet and me not even dilated! Even if i opted to be induced...doc will cut me open as well...so after 10days..i straightaway opted for C-Sec.

Talk about planning!

Just to share, I delivered my baby in oct 2010 at Putrajaya Hospital under Full Paying Patient. It's just like private. U can choose your own gynae. no need to q. Very very satisfied and happy with service. Just like private hospital. My room was executive suite at the 5th floor. Per nite rm300.
I was induced for 18 hours still no sign of baby then had to go emergency c-sect coz fetal distress. Strayed 4 days 3 nites total bill for mother n baby was rm3511!!! Soooo cheap for normal-to-emergency c-sect! My husband when want to pay the bill the bill aso cannot percaya the bill. tongue.gif
Doctors n nurses give u 1st class treatment!!
2nd baby aso I sure go back there! biggrin.gif

Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur (PHKL),
8 Jalan Bukit Pantai,
59200 Kuala Lumpur.

You can call Ms. Hema at 03 – 2296 0773 / 696 and I'm sure she knows about it.

Regards, Joey
