Damansara Specialist Hospital.  Promotes breast-feeding a lot.  Will keep baby with mummy as much as possible to encourage breast-feeding and bonding.

2007
Natural delivery (failed) + Caesarian (epidural)
Two-bedded room, 3 days 2 nights
7k+

2010
Caesarian (epidural)
Two-bedded room, 3 days 2 nights
8k+

Yalor, DSH is very expensive and not recommended at all. My friend also delivered there and during hari raya (possibly emergency c-sect), bill came up to 12k. That was almost 3 years ago in 2007.

My wife delivered last year (OCT) in UMSC, single room 3days2night, natural with epidural (failed)->emergency c-sect (somemore after working hours, around 7pm) inclusive on baby care about 8k++.

I think some of the private hospital are charging ridiculous pricing. My wife initially had the pregnancy visit at DSH but we changed to UMSC after the doc scare us with down syndrome. In fact, when we did the DS test at the xxxxx (I cant recall the name of the specialist, located in TTDI there), doctor question why we wanna do the test cos my wife and I were so young. This was double confirmed when we changed to Dr Eugene who also question the findings of the gynae in DSH. For me, I never bothered at all after googling up the issue but my wife is restless and I did what I could possibly can do comfort her since its our first child.

suggestion for each listing can we split :

2.c-section

so expecting parents can look into what kinda budget they're expecting

Woot...

If you ask me, I would advise you to book the doctor and do a c-sect or induced birth before Feb arrive.

CNY is around the corner, and if unlucky, wanna give birth on CNY, charges are likely double or triple. Not only that, if got complication, need to wait for doctor.

Most would stay around 3D2N if they do a C-sect if everything is according to plan. So why risk the unwanted additional financial burden.

Instead of discussing with us, why not ask your wife gynae? You should discuss with her about the charges so that you dont get rip off blur blur.

I did my homework before my wife delivery and ask the doctor about the financial estimate for natural, c-sect and even the worse possible outcome before deciding. There's a lot more to spend after the baby was born so plan carefully.

Hi frens,

Anyone know what is the current delivery package at UMSC? I cant find much info about their package through Google.

Many thanks in advance.

Not sure whats the pricing now. My wife delivered in late 2009 for a total of 8.8k, normal + epidural + forcep + emergency c-sect + baby care (day n night, yes they charge 2 session for whole day) + 3D2N single room.

Slightly more expensive compared to doing c-sect straight away. If not mistaken, was told by gynae (Prof Leong) doing c-sect straight away cost around 5k+ including baby care. Of course, two years later, its bound to go higher. UMSC is not bad but if your wife goes through c-sect, you are not allowed into operating theatre.

Actually I almost wanted to go for c-sect considering the cost but since my budget allows (already plan before marriage), I decided to let my wife try the natural process. I think its good for men too. See how hard it is for labor. Just dont get too suspense.
