Multitouch makes the screen look cool, but i prefer the volume button to control the zooms somehow.

I find multi touch gesture zooming to be more convenient than swirl gesture on N900. The zooming is cool when pinch to zoom

The pusing pusing zoom feature of N900 is also very innovative but time consuming as well?
Actually the problem is resistive la... I think after using capacitive, many wont want to turn back to resistive unless really need to work with a stylus.
Yup.the pusing2 thing is indeed time consuming.Hardly used by people.
How the users want the zoom depends on their choice. Some like pinch & zoom, some like to use the volume control & some like the single tap action.
The Nokia technical team wanted to keep resistive screen because they don't want to trade it's accuracy for capacitive's responsiveness. Some even suggested to use resistive screen on N8 when N8 was initially designed.
Ultimately Nokia bend down for the majority consumers wish & used capacitive screen instead.
