QUOTE(shootkk @ Nov 1 2010, 05:56 PM)
Why? I seriously believe that f2.8 constant zooms are highly overrated in terms of aperture ratings. At f2.8 it's not really bright enough for indoors without flash most of the time. If I have to use flash then f2.8 is not much different than f4. Plus you cannot use f2.8 most of the time if you're shooting event. The DOF is just not enough for groups. Thus f4 is better.

Thus if you're gonna have to use flash and can't shoot wide open most of the time, I'll pick the extra range that's far more useful.

Also those premium zooms are darn heavy! I'll rather lug 2 camera bodies with fast primes instead of one huge, bulky and just as heavy f2.8 premium constant zoom but that's just me.  smile.gif

uncle..you cannot compare my tammy with the Zeiss zooms la..its at least half the weight.. laugh.gif sometimes you can't shoot with flash all the time..the f2.8 really comes in handy...

IIRC, sal55200 diameter is 55m while sel1855 is 49mm, so probably cannot...

noob questions here:
what else does a battery grip offers other than the additional battery slot and ease of taking vertical shot?

No it can't fit. Even though it can, when you turn it to 18mm , there'll be a black frame around your picture.

1. allows 2 batteries
2. easy for portrait shots
3. adds weight.. makes your camera feels more solid and .. i dunno how to say. =D

Those 3 are the only 3 i know..

SEL1855 is the E-Mount for NEX isn't it? It's definitely 49mm since I have a 49mm filter on it lol..
