Try use Fn up or Fn down

For user using laptop, better install laptop-mode-tools.

Em it's quite annoying need to do Fn+UP whenever back from idle mode.

That does not help.
Try paste output of: iwconfig

CODE

Yes annoying.
That is why I only use kernel which I compiled myself.
Anyway... I don't use ubuntu.

now you dont even getting dhcp lease..
as i said if u're using dhcp, the dhcp server and dns setting is in your router..

nothing to do with your OS..

doesnt debian and ubuntu are similar?

Similar but not the same.
Yes, Ubuntu at earlier stage follow Debian. The filesystem layout and packaging system.
But now I think Ubuntu has gone it's own path.
Like I said before, it does not follow Debian versioning system. It does not go through strict release system: experimental--> unstable-->testing---->stable. That is why Ubuntu can release new version every few months.
Is it really stable? Everytime people file bugs...they will repair it in new release. So which is stable release? Future release?
I'm not comdemning Ubuntu, just curious.

CODE

is there anything wrong?

Nothing wrong with your iwconfig.
Your wireless connected to your router.
Are you sure you have check /etc/resolv.conf and tmnet dns is on the first line?

How about ping?
Does it reply from outside?

Something you could check, is the routing table.
Try this command:
ip route get 1.2.3.4

It should show it's trying to get the ip through your router. Something like this:

# ip route get 1.2.3.1
1.2.3.1 via 10.0.0.1 dev wlan0 src 10.0.0.3
cache mtu 1500 advmss 1460 hoplimit 64

Is there by any chance you are using both wired and wireless at the same time?
I meant, your wired cable still plugin while trying access using wireless. That will not work..

Like I said before, those automatic tools sometime can cause problem.
Let's do the old skool.

Test first:
Disable automatic tool (some call zeroconfig) usually some avahi module, resolvconfig and network-manager.
From you screenshot, it's network-manager.
Kill all this services:
1. killall -9 dhcdbd
2. killall -9 NetworkManager
3. killall -9 NetworkManagerDispatcher

Edit /etc/resolv.conf :
CODE
nameserver 202.188.0.133
nameserver 202.188.1.5

Now edit your /etc/network/interfaces so it will look like this:
In this example, we disable the wired network so it will not clash with wireless.

Test 1
1. Dynamic ip
CODE
auto lo wlan0
iface lo inet loopback
iface wlan0 inet dhcp

Restart network: /etc/init.d/networking restart

Test 2
2. Static ip
CODE
auto lo wlan0
iface lo inet loopback

iface wlan0 inet static
       address 10.0.0.21
       netmask 255.255.255.0
       network 10.0.0.0
       broadcast 10.0.0.255
       gateway 10.0.0.1

Restart networking: /etc/init.d/networking restart

Check ifconfig to see wlan0 get ip.

See if you can connect to internet.

If the above works, you better off without network-manager. Remove/uninstall network-manager and dhcdbd. So does resolvconfig.

sudo gedit /etc/network/interfaces
*
okay replace it using this
CODE

You have to type sudo gedit /etc/resolv.conf to open it, and you
should be asked for your password. Then you should be able to save it.
If for any weird reason that doesn't work, save resolv.conf in your
home folder and then type

sudo cp ~/resolv.conf /etc/

That should copy it and over-write the original.

but still can't connect loll

see this..
CODE

scorps@scorps-laptop:/etc/network$ sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

Have you check what is inside /etc/resolv.conf after restarting networking?

It should be ok with the static ip setup.

Using static ip setup, run this as root:

sudo echo "nameserver 202.188.0.133" > /etc/resolv.conf

Then try ping google.

When I said root.... it means sudo in Ubuntu.
Just copy and paste that command in your terminal.

That's wierd.
You should by now be able to ping outside.
I'm out of idea.

Have you test this in windows?

check your modem----wireless router setup
Is your modem is pure modem or router with builtin modem? Because router with builtin modem need to change to bridge mode first in order to use wireless router. I think you already know this.

If your wireless router using linux, you could telnet into it and do some testing, ping for example.

This is how I test in my router:
CODE
$ telnet 192.168.1.1
Trying 192.168.1.1...
Connected to 192.168.1.1.
Escape character is '^]'.
