Yup, but you've got some like the Tama Rhythmwatch that will give you more advanced settings with different layers and so on.

wah nice kit! can experiment with lotsa different sounds..

Btw, you can also get the metronome sound online, if really wana save money ler...onlinemetronome.com

Hey isaac so how was the gig? Do you play your own songs or covers?
*
Yepyep, but sometimes got no connection then how? tongue.gif

It was an open air thing, and it started raining, so it got canceled. :/ HAHAHAHA! Not the first time it has happened though.

It depends who I'm playing with, but with my main band I play a mix of covers and originals, and with my side projects and sessions, I guess it depends. smile.gif

Lol. Cant control the weather too bad.

Awesome so you have a lot of original stuff as well.
Do u usually get a lot of gigs to play in? Do you know of any frequent open mic nights around KL where any random band can come n register n play like 1 or 2 songs?

And yes this question goes to all the drummers who read this. Any special kind of physical exercise that ya'll do to improve your drumming? Or just keep practising and the speed will come eventually?

Share with me your secrets!! tongue.gif
*
Not a lot of original stuff, but we're working on it. And I've got a solo EP project coming up in the holidays smile.gif
My gigs are usually at conferences or hotels and stuff, so I'm not sure about frequent open mic nights, but I'm sure if you look around you could find some.

Physical exercise eh? I'm not very fit, but I've recently taken up swimming (no noticeable difference yet, not that I'm expecting it to.. but wink.gif ) I have a friend who plays with hand and ankle weights though..

QUOTE(treflip @ Nov 15 2011, 03:20 PM)
lol no lah..hehehehe..planning to let this one go coz the same snare is coming except in the different color and in a thicker ply. so need to let it go coz i wanna fund for a Ludwig snare hehehehe

SUPRA.PHONIC.

Walao everytime got new Snare? ohmy.gif

Edit: Guys what do you think, which is a better buy Tama Swingstars or Pearl Forum? If the Price is similar which one will you go for?  hmm.gif

I more inclined towards Tama  tongue.gif  duno why...maybe cuz fren influence...I like the hardware and I've tested b4 Speedcobra...much nicer then Pearl Eliminators.... LOL nice and tough.  blush.gif
*
Hmm.. It depends which Swingstars, but I'd probably swing towards those too, rather than the Forum. The Japanese Swingstars, that were made in the 80's - early 90s I think are pretty good, and are mid-high end drums IIRC, but the more recent ones are not very good though.

The Speedcobras are really good. I want a pair. Hehehehe. trade in my Iron Cobras biggrin.gif

actually i prefer pearl mount system la..

dunno suck or wat la but the tama rockstar i got have the star mounting or some shit like dat very troublesome when want change head. Need use the L key to open the star-crap then only can take out the hoop and change head.. waste alot time
*
The Swingstar doesn't have the STAR system, I think, and its useful if you bring your drums around I think. Extremely sturdy.

Wait what?  unsure.gif

rclxub.gif System is useful if I bring my drums everywhere I go ? Huh?  icon_question.gif

No, the reason for the hassle in changing heads is cause apparently it is more sturdy.

I'm still using my Ludwig Epic for gigs where I have to bring my own kit, it's amazing, and the bass drum... I tell you arh. It's so loud and boomy and so vintage Ludwig. I'm using it with my Sabian AAX and HHXs lah.

between DDRUM Diablo and Pearl Target...which one is better for me? playing hardcore and rock music..thx
*
I've heard better reviews about the Diablo. Get the Diablo, and change the heads, and you ought to have a decent starter kit!

Where you buy that DDrum from?  hmm.gif I so far haven't come accors any Ddrum lolz..... sweat.gif

Always TAMA,Pearl followed by Mapex then Peace and Sonar....  shocking.gif  shakehead.gif  doh.gif
*
I deal ddrum. smile.gif And its stocked at JS.

NO, I disagree with you. Everyone has their personal preferences, and of course the pro lines (eg. Sonor Delite) will pwn the beginner lines of other brands (eg. Pearl Forum). Different tastes and different feel. Meritocracy.

Not a major fan of any of the above brands, but I use/have used gear from all of the above brands you mentioned. tongue.gif

Agree with this BUT BUT....

Why so hard buy used in Malaysia ZZZZ  cry.gif

IN US so nice I JELLY!  mad.gif
*
Still, it depends a lot on personal preference, but sometimes there are the ones that are clearly not good at all la. tongue.gif

Hmm.. Yes, I agree, good used buys are hard to find, but when I was searching for a kit, I saw a six piece Yamaha Stage Custom with double pedals and Sabian B8s for 2.5k. I almost went for it la. Almost.

PDP, well depends what series la biggrin.gif Definitely not the Z5, if possible, please. x) But above that range, it looks okay la. smile.gif

Not sure about the Mainstage, but the FS, M5 and X7 are all pretty good kits for the money. biggrin.gif

But actually the Z5 should be okay, in the sense that you might have cash left over the switch your heads.

Hard to tune and hard to stay tuned... If i were u, get something above beginner kits. Changed head and u will get a decent sounds and not to mention better hardware... Beginner set even u changed the head wont sound nice to me.. Imho.. No to expect
Sounds like pro kits but sound that u wanna keep on drumming.. Still remember when i took lesson at yamaha.. One room equip with stage custom and another room use gig maker.. The gig maker sounds like cardboard even they using remo head.. The stage custom still using the original head.. I told my teacher if next time using this drumset i will quite drumming as its really turn me off to hit that drum.. Hehe.. Maybe that just me... But try to get somethig above beginner and u will enjoy u drumming more...smile.gif
*
Very much agreed. Eh bro, which Yamaha you went to ahh? The one I went to a long time ago also had one Stage Custom and one Gigmaker biggrin.gif

So yeah, 5p3ak. What he says is also true. In the long run, it will prove better. In the short term as well, actually. Basically, spend on one midrange kit now, instead of in a few years rugi-ing and getting one anyway.
