QUOTE(5p3ak @ Dec 16 2011, 07:47 AM) New also can but...I read online they say if low budget better get used....then again this is Malaysia so So, buy new. QUOTE(sengot @ Dec 16 2011, 10:51 AM) Hi, Nope, it may or may not sound professional, depending on how well you tune it, and it still won't sound like a professional kit, but it will sound so much better. Really. Do it. Change your heads.I recently upgrade my cheapo drumkit to a better entry level drumkit, a Tama Imperialstar (bought used). The thing is all drums has stock heads (with tama logo) and the sound is not what i least expected. So the question is: Does changing both batter and reso head with high end skin, tuned properly (such as evan EC2, Remo powerstroke 3) really make difference? I doesn't mean getting a 10k drumkit sound, just at least it produce sound like a professional. |

QUOTE(sengot @ Dec 16 2011, 02:17 PM) Thanks for the tips. Kinda looking at teh Mapex MPX Maple snare. What do you think about it? Its slightly ringy, so you'll need something to control the overtones, but otherwise its okay, pretty okay for the price. Change the heads though http://guitarcollection.com.my/eshop/index...soosnlfgn8c2vk2 QUOTE(5p3ak @ Dec 16 2011, 05:38 PM) Heh saw you at drummerworld forum and reply to your thread too Ehh bro, our long PM session lu pun tak tengok ka? QUOTE(5p3ak @ Dec 23 2011, 08:22 AM) Nope, recently I've been playing alot on other people's kits. QUOTE(zzzxtreme @ Dec 23 2011, 12:28 PM) can anyone recommend me a value-for-money "non-entry level" drum set model which is suitable enough for recordings and gigs , mainly for death/black metal players? thanks ! What's your budget mate? Its hard for us to recommend anything if we don't know your "limited budget".I see plenty Pearls/Tama/etc... for under RM2K (without cymbals), but aren't those "entry level/practice" drums? QUOTE(WintersuN @ Dec 23 2011, 01:00 PM) no i not mean i pro.. i noob and will forever noob cos i not start early when young. So no chance develop lo. since u young u can train n b pro when working time QUOTE(muckstefan @ Dec 23 2011, 03:40 PM) gotta agree with bro wintersun on that.start young, and most importantly buy your OWN SET if it's possible when you're still young.it's much easier for you to improve with the combination of young age+own set to practice on.i've been drumming for 8 years but never improve much..ketuk2 kaki+pijak2 lantai only when practicing..the only drum i own is a snare drum and that's all.the only chance i have to bang on some real drums is when i go for jamming session with friends.quite jelly when i see certain people started drumming only 2 years ago but so damn pro already while me, 8 years but level like drummer for org kahwin band only.moral of the story,GO GET YOURSELF A KIT.hehehehe.btw Blessed Christmas to any of you celebrating. I can agree with what you guys have said, and I know what you mean when you say that people drumming for 2 years are already so much better than you, but I don't think buying a kit is that important. I read that one local drummer of a band, doesn't have his own kit at home, but just practices a lot with his snare pad and kick pad. And either way, I know a couple drummers (not personally) who only started drumming, or started taking it seriously in their 20s, and they are pretty good. One of them is endorsed by Meinl 5p3ak, why don't you start the new thread? |

QUOTE(nicholas_1213 @ Mar 11 2014, 10:40 AM) Fellow drummers, I'm letting go one of my cymbal - Sabian Vault Artisan 18" Crash for sales, including cymbal bag and original cert when purchase. Also I may be putting up another Sabian Artisan Light Ride 20" for sales (also with cymbal bag and cert). Great chance for those who want to own a piece of high end Sabian cymbals. Interested party may PM me Hey Nicholas, this is the old thread. We're over here: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2161623Reason being that I owned 3 Artisan cymbals (another one is 22" medium ride), and they sound too alike to each others, letting go one or two to fund some other brighter sounding cymbals. Meanwhile to all, happy drumming! |
