I see. I have ZBT Cymbal pack is it good ? I mean in materials I duno this "tech" stuff even tho I'm a computer Enhusiast. :\
*
Its... okay only lah. smile.gif You could do much better. Add a bit more, and go for the Sabian B8s. Or even on a lower budget, the Meinl MCS set does pack a punch. PM me for details of the MCS if you wanna buy a set.

Cymbals are only as good as the musician who plays it, I have seen great drummers who use cymbals similar to the quality of ZBT and produce sounds which I never thought was possible (When I'm playing it instead).
*
I don't totally agree.

With better cymbals, you can coax out better sounds, no?
While yes, great drummers can make not very good kits sound reasonably alright, there is a reason for all that high end gear.

hi.. how much is stagg myra series? i'm opening a studio soon. currently doing procurement for instrument n equipment.
*
QUOTE(flamestudio @ Jul 8 2011, 10:55 AM)
Around RM300 for a piece of 16 inch crash.

In your case, just get a Planet Z set or Sabian Solar set. Strong and economical.

Cheers bro and good luck on your studio.
*
Also, try out Silken. Definitely much better than the Planet Zs and Sabian Solars while at a good price. Check out Stagg DH also.

*
Not necessarily laa... I mean, good drums ARE good drums. :/ If not then everyone should stick with Pearl Forums. xD

is it better than tama swingstar?
*
Tama Swingstar right... The latest production ones were a step below the Rockstars, but they were still quite okay lah. Lower middle class?

However, the Made in Japan 80s Swingstars were their midrange kit. So it depends smile.gif

And I am inclined to believe that yes, both are better than the Forums, but with good heads, good tuning, and a good drummer.. The difference doesn't matter THAT much. I'd still go for the Swingstar though. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Namqul @ Jul 13 2011, 12:42 AM)
The link says its RM10, but that is for the previous session in June if I'm not mistaken. For tomorrow, its free.
Which shop are you dropping by? And your mode of transportation? I might be interested in a few items.
*
I'll try to go to Drum Resources or Swee Lee, if I have the time. Not sure if I can though, I'll be down for a conference, and if it ends too late, the shops might be closed.

Hmm interesting what about Pearl's EProLive ?
*
That's a nice set. xD However, it is also VERY costly. Under 20k lah, which makes it a cheaper option than the TD20SX. But I wouldn't go for it.

And nope, you don't have to clean em everyday. xD

Added on July 19, 2011, 10:02 amhi guys, wanna discuss:

Usually when u go for gig or any performance, they will provide the drum set right? What are the stuff they dont provide that u have to bring your self?
*
It depends on the venue.

But yes, anyway, at the very least, bring your sticks and a drum key. Masking tape of duct tape too, if possible. You never know when it'll come in handy.

Generally, I bring a snare, my cymbals, and my double pedals if necessary (unless I'm familiar with the venue). Those cover my basic sound already. If the set is a horrible kit, at least I can just rely on what I bring. Besides that, masking tape, screwdriver, allen key, drum key, sticks.

Once I brought an extra floor tom >=)

Hey guys I am new to this forum, just wanted to ask a quick question. Anyone heard or owns a XM electronic drum kit. Thought of selling my acoustic kit and get an electronic one so I can practice/play at night. The model I am currently interested in is the XM Custom 8SR. Any input will be helpful. Thanks alot.
*
I don't know about the XM. it seems like no one uses it smile.gif I know its cheap, but quality control, I'm not sure about that. It looks cheap too.
