PDP, well depends what series la biggrin.gif Definitely not the Z5, if possible, please. x) But above that range, it looks okay la. smile.gif

Not sure about the Mainstage, but the FS, M5 and X7 are all pretty good kits for the money. biggrin.gif

But actually the Z5 should be okay, in the sense that you might have cash left over the switch your heads.

Hard to tune and hard to stay tuned... If i were u, get something above beginner kits. Changed head and u will get a decent sounds and not to mention better hardware... Beginner set even u changed the head wont sound nice to me.. Imho.. No to expect
Sounds like pro kits but sound that u wanna keep on drumming.. Still remember when i took lesson at yamaha.. One room equip with stage custom and another room use gig maker.. The gig maker sounds like cardboard even they using remo head.. The stage custom still using the original head.. I told my teacher if next time using this drumset i will quite drumming as its really turn me off to hit that drum.. Hehe.. Maybe that just me... But try to get somethig above beginner and u will enjoy u drumming more...smile.gif

Z5 -> Mainstage - >FS - > M5/X7..

M5 and X7 is same shell construction...just different configuration and finishing..

M5 = 5 pcs
X7 = 7 pcs

Very much agreed. Eh bro, which Yamaha you went to ahh? The one I went to a long time ago also had one Stage Custom and one Gigmaker biggrin.gif

So yeah, 5p3ak. What he says is also true. In the long run, it will prove better. In the short term as well, actually. Basically, spend on one midrange kit now, instead of in a few years rugi-ing and getting one anyway.

Sonor 2007/3007 has now been replaced by Select Force/Essential Force. Same thing basically biggrin.gif except the Essential now has birch shells.

Yeah, those are midrange. The Tama Superstar is midrange, the Epic is midrange, Yamaha Stage Customs, Gretsch Catalina and some of the Pearl Visions. Some.

The Stage Custom is a brilliant set. If you can afford one, go for it. Or just take the Ludwig Epic wink.gif HAHAHAHA!

The thing is, the Stage Custom is on the higher side of the midrange ones la, about 5k-ish I believe. But it is a a really good set.
