Finally came to my senses and decided to thin the collection. Started with 68 watches, now down to just below 30. Will continue to thin until I have only about 10 left (maybe 12).  tongue.gif

For Seikos, I plan to only keep 5 or 6. That's where the hard part comes in. Which do you keep and which do you let go?  rclxub.gif

For Seikos I only have about 20 left. The rest other brands. Got 1 orange monster but my brother will get that.

I generally prefer dive watches and Seiko's divers are quite popular than their other models. For chronos and such I prefer the ones from Citizen.

Most of them come in steel bracelet but I always take it off. In case I decide to sell the watch later on, the buyer gets an almost new bracelet. But I do prefer Nato and leather straps. I change straps as often as changing underwear. tongue.gif

Orient is a sister company of Seiko and they make great/solid automatic watches. Their mako range (Orient's diver) always have rave reviews amongst collectors.

So I see that your collection are mainly Seikos, so just wondering if you may have miss out Seiko little sister aka Orient...

I myself prefer Orient coz I think Seiko is just too mass marketed. (p/s I own two Seikos - Premier Perpetual and Sportura Chronograph, both Kinetic).

The above statement does not apply to Grand Seiko (aka my grail watch)

auto winder would be for those manual winding watches. if im not mistaken. so for seiko's autos normally, no wrist time, no winding at all wink.gif

haha! dont worry about it. i actually knew what u meant, but dunno why i said something else. morning syndrome. still sleeping with eyes wide open.

yup, even for me, for 3 seiko autos, surely one will die off. so i'd say, see which one you prefer to have the most wrist time with. 2 is the max to keep them all running. laugh.gif

luckily my russian aviator manual winding. hahaha senang tongue.gif

I think you mean the opposite? Watch winders work for auto watches so if you put your Seiko auto on a winder, technically it will be running as long as the winder is on. Manual/hand winding on the other hand requires, well, hand winding.

There arguments from both sides on whether a watch winder is necessary. On one hand, if you don't wear your watch for a long period of time, the lubricant may harden and this may affect the movement. On the other, constantly winding it may result in parts being worn out faster.

I have a winder which I never turn on, only use it to store watches. I guess as long as I rotate my watches once in a while it's good enough smile.gif
