Wow, didn't know there was a Seiko thread here. Did a search a few months back and didn't find any.

In terms of Seiko, this Tuna is the most recent Seiko to join my small and humble collection.

Although my collection is fairly mixed, I would say I have a preference for divers more than anything else. Here's a partial group shot of the Seiko divers, missing a few sent for service.

Unfortunately my Seiko addiction is slowly shifting towards a different direction and my last 3 purchases have been towards different brands. I'm also starting to appreciate quartz and kinetic movements and will probably pull the trigger on my first kinetic, a BFK.

Cheers.

Price tag? For each watch u mean? Hard to do and don't really remember all of them.

I'm not selling off my collection as yet. Just reached a point where buying my 4th watch box is no longer an option. So now adopting a 1 in, 1 out policy. Buy one new one, must pick one from the watch box to let go. tongue.gif

Sure pm me if you're interested in one of my watches below.

Thanks. Some are no longer with me. I've managed to scale down my collection from 68 to about 40.

I'm considered an amateur. U haven't seen some of the other local Seiko collectors yet, almost if not more than 100 watches. tongue.gif

That's just the local fans, haven't mention the foreign ones yet.

Your prized possession must have seen a lot of battle scars since u wear it daily to the office. Can easily get it cleaned and polished to look new.

I've got a SKZ211 bought in 2005 that I wore quite often. A lot of marks on the bracelet and case. Recently sent it to my regular shop to be cleaned. They polished out the marks and it came back looking almost new. The watch has not been serviced but is still running great.

Here's the watch. Wore it to dinner just this past Sunday. Looks great for a watch bought in 2005 doesn't it. rclxms.gif

How much did you pay to get it lceaned and polished?
been reading a lot on DIY polishing on WUS using Scotchbrite pads, fibreglass pens for brushed surface and Cape Cod cloth for polished surface...
tried the yellow/green scotch brite pads on my old casio..works fine except i need a pad with has finer grits..

I went to my regular Seiko AD to get the crystal cleaned and they couldn't open the caseback with the regular caseback opener. There was a sifu from Orient dropping by the shop at that time and they passed the watch to him. He took the watch back to his office and did everything.

A few days later I went back to the shop to collect and offered to pay but they said the fee was so minimal they were embarrassed to collect money from me so I don't know how much it would cost. I really don't think it would costs them much else I'm sure they would have charge me.

If u're just looking for it to be cleaned up then any good watch shop should be able to do it. Most of them have a cleaning machine similar to what an optometrist would use to clean eye glasses.

I won't be selling the SKZ211. Even if someone wanted to trade me a Rolex for it, I won't part with it. It was a gift and it was my 1st Seiko. So got sentimental value. tongue.gif

depends on how you view this...seiko by no means is worse than tissot or any other swiss companies...
the difference between seiko and swiss brands is seiko caters for as much market as possible..
from the cheapo seiko 5, to seiko premier to seiko ananta to Grand Seiko..where as swiss brands focus on a niche segment of the market...swatch and tissot are entry level, tag-heuer, longines, hamiliton slightly higher..
Ever heard of Grand Seiko and Seiko Spring Drive?

not possible thru authorized dealers in malaysia i think...
you can try skywatches..they are grey market dealer based in singapore..
http://www.skywatches.com.sg/reviews/seiko...ew-for-sale.htm

However, made in japan doesn't really mean the watch was made wholly in japan...there's no certain definition defining what is "made in japan" unlike the swiss counterpart..
my seiko premier is the "j" variant and has the "made in japan" wording on the dial but the bracelet is from china..

Thru grey market importers but no warranty from Thong Sia. Any problems u'll have to send it back to the seller. Try the watch shop in SS2. They used to carry JDM Seikos but not sure if they do now. There's another one in Jln Ipoh but they're not a watch store that you can walk into to have a look. You'd have to email them to deal.

But in my opinion, SKX007 is widely available here and there's no difference between J or K except for the wordings on the dial & case back. J version has the wordings "21 Jewels" beneath the Diver's 200m and "Made in Japan". The case back has the word "A Japan". K version doesn't. Everything else is the same. Same case, same movement, same bracelet, etc. For the extra wordings you'll be paying extra RM100 as compared to the K version. Not worth it in my opinion.

Here's a comparison of both dials

I don't know much about Tissot but can 2K get you a Tissot automatic with power reserve indicator? Just curious as Swiss brands with same functions are generally more expensive.
