Intersting. I assume that by answering it this way. You are showing that you are in demand and that they did better offer a good salary to attract you?

As for answering question in interview IMHO you should answer ASAP. I answer all my question ASAP but depending on the question i would ask them to clarify it as to not to give the wrong answer. Because sometime they will give a very confusing question.
*
Yeah, You in the point. Going for the interview is showing you are the man for

the job and that why everyone will prove they in-demand/suitable for the job.

About the salary section, I think they already expect giving you the min/max

before calling you for the interview. Yes, Maybe they will giving you extra /

shorter probations period.

If those not techincal question such like engineer job, I do not think there will

have right or wrong questions.

Hi,

1) It is not professional anyhow to disclose the detail of your interview to someone else.

2) This is like any kind of negotiation. You do not tell everything to the people that you are negotiating to.

Hi,

This is not as relevant to junior level people. But, for senior level people, there is really not a min/max salary level. Especially, for people that are revenue/profit generating.

If a company believe that by hiring you, they can make 10 times Y more money. They will definitely consider paying you a salary of Y. Budget is not an issue for profit generating person. Now, the question is can you convince the employer they can make 10Y more profit with you??

Hi,
If i go for an interview, and they are satisfied with me & would like to employ me. Will it be rude for me to pop up the question how much are they offering to me?

Good question. But I heard from a radio talk show quite some time ago ( Hitz.FM) One of the guy that interviews ppls all the time say this. English is important. He has candidate requesting him to conduct interview in malay and the candidate is a degree holder. He said that the guy has discredit himself the moment he ask for interview in malay. So i would assume that english is important.

i'd encountered an interview before, they said wanna hire me... Didn't mention the salary part. Just asked me how is my decision. Then I was some kind of loss for words-- thinking how to ask about the salary.. unsure.gif

If I wanna ask.. what is the proper way?

I have encounter few times of interview. Some will be asking your demand salary

in the 1st interview and some in the 2nd interview. I think every company have

their different Interview.

About your cases, Maybe when the interviewer ask 'Any questions?'

I not sure my way is proper or not, Just need Dreamer to giving his opinion.

Hi,

In any type of negotiation, the party that made the first offer lose. So, the proper answer will be "I want to work for your company, so give me your best offer". Let the employer make the first offer.

Hi,

Why learn the Malaysian language?? It is not and will never be the global standard.  In fact, it will most probably be Americanized by American TV and movies anyhow..

By the way, I like to annoy people and force people out of their comfort zone where no thinking is required.

What is Mizzou?? Since I do not know what is BA, I guess the statement of everyone knows what a BA is is not true.

Dreamer
*
I'm referring to correcting people thinking you're still in America. For instance, torchlight / flashlight. People don't like when you tell them it's flashlight, not torchlight. And people don't like it when you tell them to clear the table in McDonalds here, and they definitely don't like it when you say "In America it's bla bla bla". I'm not talking about the language.

Mizzou has one the first (and one of the best) J-school in the country. No, not everyone knows if BA is Business Admin or not, but noboby assumes it stand for Bachelos of Arts either tongue.gif

QUOTE(crystal_kit85 @ Sep 25 2005, 12:16 AM)
To Spanker and Dreamer,

I have a question here that has been raised before by some of the forumers but the reason i am asking this question again is that i couldn't really see there is any effective answer given. So long story short, if you were in my shoes and the question being asked by the interviewer is " Tell me where you stand in the next 5 years", what kind of answer will you give, let's say that you are majoring in the Business with I.T field because currently i am doing this course and you are a freshie. Thanks in advance.
*
it depends on what your goals are. If you don't have any, then you had better form one before attending an interview. But if your goals conflict with the company's, then you might want to i) reconsider working for the company ii) reconsider telling them your goals. Keep in mind that no matter how well you answer this (or any) question, it may not be the right answer because it might not be the answer your prospective employer want to hear.

So in other words, there's no hard and fast answer to that question. However, if you want some guides on forming your goals, there's a thread in Kopitiam that you can check out.

Well, I got my offer. HR personnel ask me come to office to collect the Offer Letter.
Yes, I need to clarify with them the performance review, increment, bonus policy.
But normally they won't put in those increment, bonus policy. They will saying this will base on performance to decide it.
How do I or Can I ask the Letter to put in those policy?

The best you could ask for is an annual performance review to be included in the offer letter. Increments and Bonuses are not usually hard and fast policies but rather subjective and based on company, department or individual performance.

Hi,

Depending on how well organized the company is, for an MNC, you probably can get an employee hand book from the HR to read all about performance review system. But, those items will not be in the offer letter.

Hi,

1) I still have no idea what Mizzou is?? And, which country do you refer to??

2) I am way past the age and time of caring people like me or not. That is the benefit of not caring. I can just say it like it is...

3) I clear my own table at McDonald even in Malaysia. And, I told my kids to do that too. There is no sense picking up bad habit in Malaysia.

Hi,

We always come across this question in interviews:
"Tell me about yourself"

What can a fresh graduate said, cause the answer samples I saw here are more on what they had learnt/do in previous employment.

I encounter this before:
Interview A: I mention something about my age, education only but the interviewer start asking "how about your family, what did they do?"

Interview B: I told him about myself,my family and what they do and the interviewer laughed!

Should "Tell me about yourself" include:
1. My origins?
2. Early education?
3. Tertiary education?
5. Activities in University? (which i have very little)
4. My family members and their jobs?
5. ???

Please add for me if i left out anything and tell me if there's anything i should leave out.

Thanks.

hello,

If you used google, the first thing that comes up if you typed Mizzou would be University of Missouri, Columbia. But don't go do my background check there though, I still owe them a bundle, hahah!

It doesn't matter if you care people like you or not, it's a matter of people not listening to you because they don't like what they hear. I clear my own tables in McD's too, but I don't go around telling my friends or colleagues who frequent McD's to clear theirs because it's unpopular to do so, and they won't listen anyway and probably mess it up even more to spite you. So sure, you can say it like it is, but just to highlight to you that there's always a political aspect to everything, but I'm sure you know that already.
