Cannot use facetime? Get Tango instead. I've tried with my friend on maxis and it is quite good and it's free

hard time choosing iphone4 now .. .. should wait for celcom iphone or just buy from digi/maxis outright iphone .. .. hurmmm .. wonder if celcom offers cheap price .. ..

just met my friend, working as an account manager of retail in celcom jalan semarak.. he told me that celcom should be launching the iphone4 on 15th dec 2010. but they had a problem with shipment of the iphone.. they event make a joke on it, "the ship sank just before melaka traits" donno the exact date though..

Ya.. I know about this. They suppose to launch the Iphone in the middle of december last year. I dont know what happen for the delay. so it is confirmed that the ship sank. hahaha..

hmm.. I know when the apple staff told me.. within this mth celcom chould make an announcement.. hw fast is celcom dataplan? 3g? is it better than maxis?

FaceTime available now.....yahoo .... I was trying to activate it yesterday. 1st time fail then I off and on again immediately and went to sleep. Only found it activated this morning. I ask my sister to activate her iPhone and her FaceTime was activated in just less then 10 min I guess because I called her again to confirm in 10 min. Try yours now ... happy trying...

Nice to hear that you manage to activate FaceTime. Can you share with us here how you manage to do it like:

1. Do you need to be in Wifi for it to work or just simply only with 3G?
2. If in Wifi, do you need to let the 3G in ON or OFF position?
3. The phone number you use, just simply put 019xxxxx or need to put in as +6019xxxx?
4. Any other particular steps to be taken or does it needs certain time to activate it?

Got my facetime to work finally...

but i did another trick .. after many tries when I read your post which didn't work..
I decided to put my iphone on a dmz server.. (all ports open to the internet).. using wifi..

less than 1 minute .. my facetime was on ...

Oh I see, then care to share how your method here? Like how to use the dmz server (no idea what is that).

Its that means Celcom will lunch iP4?

go into your wireless router or router..
look for dmz setting..
key a ip address thats not being used.. lets say 192.168.0.144



than go to your iphone and key in the ipaddress...



go to facetime press "on"
that all i did...

My theory is our routers are blocking certain ports for facetime to activate. So unblocking all this ports might do the trick. So i guess if you do it on 3G alone without wifi it should work better because there is no router blocking ports to activate.. so try my trick if 3g alone doesn't work..

eh, I'm on 3G network, not on WIFI
Turn on FaceTime, less than a minute, it's ON!!!

Your phone number will be shared with people you call with FaceTime

yeah, my FT also activated..i didnt do anything, just turn it on and let it keep activating..after a while i check back, it's ON.
