Because last week I was running on Celcom 9.1 with iOS 4.2 JB. I always have call drop issue and problem. So, I downgrade to iOS 4.1, with carrier default 8.0. No issue on this call drop, and message latency. Want to update to 9.1, but afraid problem will be happen again.

Issue on this 8.0 carrier is 3G signal always drop, but never drop my call, and ends up with E or O symbol beside bars, and lost forever after few hours. So, I have to restart back to get back that 3G signal. Any suggestions? Thanx in advance!

BTW, I on 3GS.

Just want to ask, the call drops due to the iOS 4.2 or the carrier Celcom 9.1? Because mine is previously iOS 4.1 JB with Carrier 8.0 and just yesterday update to Celcom 9.1 but still iOS 4.1 JB. When using 8.0 my 3G also always drops and it always tends to go to either EDGE (E) or GSM (O) rather then the 3G. But now after updating to 9.1 my signals seems ok for now, even the MY CELCOM had been change to Celcom already.

Yes, after update from 8.0 to 9.1 the 3G stays as it should be. I'm using CELCOM P148 package and I carried out speed test using "Speed Test" and I got download speed more or less 1000kpbs and upload speed of more or less 300kbps.

I followed the prevoius post and it works for me. Mine are now Celcom 9.1 and still iOS4.1 JB and so far did not affect any of my JB apps. The guide on the previous post are very useful and easy to follow. Try it for yourself

Mine showed "Celcom" instead of "MY CELCOM". Update the ipcc yesterday.

Under About it is MY CELCOM but on the status bar instead of displaying "MY CELCOM" as in 8.0 it is only "Celcom" in 9.1

Maybe. We will have to wait till Celcom is officially announcing it's official status as a carrier in Apple like Maxis and Digi. But you can try and see if you are the lucky one to get it. As for me, still can't activate Facetime even already in 9.1

If you are using the iTune 9 or 10, it will not show "Check for update" but will show "Update". Remember to press Shift and click "Update" then choose ipcc file. If you can't see the ipcc files, simply click on the file extension selection cause for mine the default is ipsw so I need to choose ipcc to see the one that you have downloaded earlier.

The bird logo as far as I know is an additional mod that you need to do yourself. If not mistaken there is a guide here in this forum on how to get the bird logo. It doesn't come with the carrier update 9.1

Maybe your 3G line is having some problem there? Did you try to Reset Network under Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings?

Email I set to push and also by every 15 mins. I set both. For the 3G, to save battery, I use one app from Cydia that will automatically switch off my 3G when I lock the phone or when using WIFI, and it will turn automatically to 3G when I unlock my phone.

Mine too, I use my tethering on 9.1 and it works fine. By the way, now I'm using it just to test via 3G network.

Nice to hear that you manage to activate FaceTime. Can you share with us here how you manage to do it like:

1. Do you need to be in Wifi for it to work or just simply only with 3G?
2. If in Wifi, do you need to let the 3G in ON or OFF position?
3. The phone number you use, just simply put 019xxxxx or need to put in as +6019xxxx?
4. Any other particular steps to be taken or does it needs certain time to activate it?

Mine still "Waiting for activation..." cry.gif

Tried to leave it on but then it suddenly turn the FaceTime switch to OFF by itself.
