if I were you, I'll opt for 65" pana plasma tv...as for the case of burn in and ir issue, it shouldn't be a problem if you know how to solve it...

Depends whether you often gonna watch in 3D? Otherwise just go for lcd or led. Lcd and Led don't make any great difference. Led, the colour, brightness level are higher. Response rate higher if im not mistaken. Plus higher clarity.

QUOTE(tim_1335 @ Sep 22 2010, 01:31 AM) haha, u don't wanna know how much it is.... It's RM30k++, for that price if I buy it I expect it to be able to do BJs too.but according to some experts in AVS forum, this is the best tv money can buy now, right next to kuro. Anyways how much can get the Sony 60 inch EX700 - saw it retailing at RM19k |

the VT 65" is 23k, the VT 50" is 14-15k? I think that's the price. |

Sigh...... after help & opinions from you guys (thanks dudes) and other sources now my options is getting a bit more complicated.
3D is out of the picture- I guess most of you guys agree with this. But now I'm looking at the SONY KDL-60EX700 - it's 60inch Edge-LED.... yeah it retails at RM19k but after discounts and juggling on things (e.g. selling some of my current AV stuffs, not getting a new smartphone, auctioning my kidneys etc) - I can probably get away with it spending as much as I would if I was to go 55inch 3D. Still considering.........sigh |

Since you mentioned that your custom rack might not be able to hold a too heavy tv and you can't tell the different in terms of their PQ, then the weight of the tv might be the deal breaker here. 55" LED TV seems to be a suitable choice as it only weight about 32kg compared to 60" LCD TV (60+ kg), better energy saving some more.
Save some money for other stuff as getting 3D tv is too early at this stage where price is sky rocket high and 3D contents now are not many with premium price to pay for unless your pocket is bottomless |

There's really no need to go into debt for a tv. Just buy what you can afford. Bigger is better, but you don't have to get the biggest tv available. We're all no millionaires here. |
