Plasma power consumption is not a big issue, if you do the real calculation and average usage for a year a Plasma set will cost you about RM125 more than a LCD set.

Plus the new generation of Plasma sets are much more eco friendly.

Yes my thoughts exactly- in 1-2yrs down the line they might even figure out how to do 3d without glasses. At the very least make the current 3d glass tech less prone to fatigue and discomfort. Thing is I'm a avid gamer and the thought of GT5 & Killzone 3 in 3D is just something I cannot brush off 

I am not considering plasma since despite what they've been claiming, I still see quite a few people suffering from burn-in with the latest models. Conditioning and good practice (e.g. running white noise a few hrs/day) may help but that is one more thing I need to worry about.

Looks like I'm down to the 60inch LCD or 55inch LED...... how?

There's really no need to go into debt for a tv.

Just buy what you can afford.

Bigger is better, but you don't have to get the biggest tv available. We're all no millionaires here.

PS: I will be putting up the Sony BDP-E370 bluray hometheater system (came with the unit) and my old TV up for sale on LYN if none of my friends are interested to buy.
