Buying a 3D tv now isn't going to future proof anything. It could be obsolete when standard 3D comes out. You'll find yourself having proprietary 3D tech from different companies while the new ones have standard 3D tech used by all the different companies.. But it does appear that 3D releases are booming, so choose wisely. 3D titles are more expensive than normal releases. You might not even like 3D. |

QUOTE(zainframe @ Sep 21 2010, 01:32 PM) Yes my thoughts exactly- in 1-2yrs down the line they might even figure out how to do 3d without glasses. At the very least make the current 3d glass tech less prone to fatigue and discomfort. Thing is I'm a avid gamer and the thought of GT5 & Killzone 3 in 3D is just something I cannot brush off Burn-in and retention are two different things. Burn-in doesn't happen often, but you will see a lot of image retention during the first 200-250 hours. For something to burn in, the person would have to be really careless.I am not considering plasma since despite what they've been claiming, I still see quite a few people suffering from burn-in with the latest models. Conditioning and good practice (e.g. running white noise a few hrs/day) may help but that is one more thing I need to worry about. Looks like I'm down to the 60inch LCD or 55inch LED...... how? thanks for the replies guys |

the VT 65" is 23k, the VT 50" is 14-15k? I think that's the price. |

There's really no need to go into debt for a tv. Just buy what you can afford. Bigger is better, but you don't have to get the biggest tv available. We're all no millionaires here. |
