if im not mistaken, after deleting and save the modified zip.. you have to 'sign' the zip to flash it.. but me too havent tried that..
just wanna share.. correct me if im wrong..

Here's the link on how to do that and what can or cannot be removed.

Dear All,

Any way to create different ringtons for different group of people in the desire?
*
You may try the Tone Picker MP3 from Market..works great so far.
Else you can try make media folder in your sd card, for instance media/audio/ringtones or media/audio/notifications then put in desired mp3 into folder which will work out fine as well. no CAP in the folder naming.

BTW, you don't need to create a directory named "media", you can directly create "Ringtones", "Alarms", or "Music" directories in the top directory of your SD card.

The following is taken from Google's official Android documentation.
QUOTE
Music/ - Media scanner classifies all media found here as user music.
Podcasts/ - Media scanner classifies all media found here as a podcast.
Ringtones/ - Media scanner classifies all media found here as a ringtone.
Alarms/ - Media scanner classifies all media found here as an alarm sound.
Notifications/ - Media scanner classifies all media found here as a notification sound.
Pictures/ - All photos (excluding those taken with the camera).
Movies/ - All movies (excluding those taken with the camcorder).
Download/ - Miscellaneous downloads.

AuraxTSense has removed most of the apps - plurk and RSS are removed, Friend Stream still remain though.  I read somewhere you can open the ROM zip files and delete whatever default apps you dun want and save the zip file (NOT unzip, delete, zip back).  Just open the zip file with winrar and delete the files, save the modified zip file.  But I not yet try it myself coz sometime this may cause a corrupted ROM file - so TRY IT AT YOUR OWN RISK if you really want to try.  Or best you head to XDA to read more about this.  smile.gif

i deleted the apps directly like that and installed without any hassle. But worked on SuperVillain, not on LeeDroid. On SV, i deleted all apps that i dont want and it booted fine but beware, deleting FriendStream will drain battery faster as it will autosync! on LeeDroid, i tried removing unwanted apps but cant boot after flash.

whatever it is, nandroid backup first!

IINM SetCPU does not OC
you need the kernel to enable it so then you can set the OC speed that you want.
There's a script in XDA made to OC.
Just flash it and good to go!

i believe if uvoc, you are overclocking while using lower voltage(undervolt) hence got chance to have a laggy interface.

do a lil bit of googling on overclocking. i heard undervolting is dangerous too though. UNderstand the risk yourself before doing it. Every device is not created equal - i read that somewhere regarding to overclocking.

it becomes unstable i know la since you are starving your processor. but no damage will be done

how can ocuv be laggy?
basically it's running the same speed regardless of what voltage it's doing it at

Get a Custom Rom and mostly it's came with the Kernel itself. example LeeDroid Roms ( Get from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768703 biggrin.gif )
After Flash ROM , Kernel and Clockwork , you try to open Setcpu and see whether you can maximize it to 1113Mhz..

let me know if you got any prob wink.gif

i think voltage do effect performance. i'm not sure, i'm a software student, not an electrical student.
