Every AOSP rom are based on Cyanogenmod, so if you love to start from scratch, without nothing, got with CM BUT no A2SD+ for you. Well here is little comparison for you.

Cyanogenmod 6.0.1
- After installing, make sure to install the latest patch(found in CM forum), latest is 6.0.1.7. mine is 6.0.16 and i love it so far.
- No official A2SD+, unless you use darktremor's script. I tried that and got some bugs so i'd stay away and use the native A2SD, though my memoey are crying with 15mb now... even the rom maintainer(Kali-), use the same as mine. Cm 6.1 shud have this support but unconfirmed.
- Most designers design themes for CM.
- I love it CM much better though!

OpenDesire
- AdamG has done a great job with daily updates.
- got A2SD+ !!
- Its fast, but got some additional stuffs included which some people dont like so they use CM.

I tried both, and both are fast, and stable with minor bugs.

There are many ROMs based on CynogenMod. I have briefly tried a few but fall back to OpenDesire for its simple & super fast ROM.
I am always delighted by its Quadrant score of around 1600 without overclocking.
OD is the most discussed CM rom, so you can get many feedbacks when a new release is launched.

how is the 720p video recording quality?

and also does the camera support macro? I check from GSMarena it didn't mention

i also missed the HTC_IME with chinese handwriting after using OpenDesire

the 720p is great. just make sure you dont use class 2 card cuz it'll lag, though when you move it to your pc its perfect HD.

You have to pay the RRP for the phone which is RM2199.
Another alternative is to get from genuine seller. It's cheaper around RM2000.
Stock availability I'm not that sure tho.

I just got my Sandisk MicroSDHC 16GB (Class 4) for RM115 in lowyat today; need to search a bit before you can find one though They have plenty of kingstons though.

Hmm, I just finished rooted my Desire, and everything is working fine.
Then I flash the new radio from CM forum into my phone, boots nicely and everything working fine.

But then, after I shut it down and try to power it, the phone refuse to open and keeps vibrating few times. I need to take out the battery and boot few more times then only manage to get into recovery menu.

Anyone face this kind of problem before?

EDIT: Shit, now it got into the endless reboot loop; the white screen with HTC logo boot up and keep on reboot! It just refuse to get into the main screen! Any solution for this?

EDIT2: Hmmm, solved the problem by directly flash CM6 into my phone I have no idea what I did wrong that cause the problem to came up; I just use unrevoked to root; then flash to the radio version provided in CM forum, and BAM! The problem came up

hi. Have a question if you can help, really appreciate.

I just came back from Bangkok. Was using prepaid Thai GSM with my Desire. Good rate at 499baht for 180 baht of calls/sms, 50 hours of EDGE internet, and SIM. The best part is that I can turn on/off the mobile internet to save the 50 hours internet limits.

The question is regarding MARKET. I can see all the free apps in Market using that SIM card. I didn't set up my google payment. I guess if I did, I can buy apps from there as well. It automatically updated my Gmail app. When I got home, and put Maxis SIM in, the first page of MARKET only show "no information". Does it mean that MARKET is already opened for Thai and we at Malaysia are left in the dust..... Anyway, I don't intend to root my phone and therefore, have to wait a bit longer to see if Google does release the paid app in a few weeks.

Anyone has similar experience?
