QUOTE(anakrantau @ Oct 22 2010, 11:08 AM) HP, Asus and MSI they are all drop win7 and use Android instead on their tablets..correct me if I am wrong.. Win7 is great but i personally believe that its not developed for tablets. IMHO i think it needs to be stripped down by removing unnecessary features that bloat the Os. The other thing that hampers it, is the battery life. I don't believe that any win7 tablet has been able to boast a batt life longer than 5hrs. This leads me to believe that the OS is to blame for being too resource intensive. Someone also mentioned that froyo(2.2) is not optimised for larger screens & currently that is true. I think the Android platform is perfect for tablet computing as it is light & fast. Its now all up to the apps makers to come out with the alternative to suit larger screens. My take on a tablet, something light & fast, doesn't take forever to boot & last a good 8 to 10 hrs on a single charge. Its what i would take with me on a holiday instead of a laptop as i would just want to read emails, surf the net & use a little multimedia functions. But hey... its only my take on it.. Added on October 22, 2010, 11:37 am QUOTE(daruma @ Oct 22 2010, 11:17 AM) The guy at the launch was the one who told me it would be limited quantity for the sale on the 25th at those 4 place i mentioned. Then again it might be a ploy. He did say though, you're best bet would be to get it at Sunway Piramid, as he said historically previous launches always showed that Maxis Sunway encountered the least crowd as opposed to KLCC & Pavillion. So there you go ...... don't shoot me, i'm just the messenger. This post has been edited by flyguye: Oct 22 2010, 11:37 AM |

if you have a use for it like the flash and the android apps then fine its ok , otherwise if use just to check email and facebook then where got worth it ? but price sure drop next few monthsespecially 2011 when people like Acer and Asus jump on board with better products. That time Ipad also die then maybe price will become RM1500. Can wait or not ? ! |

QUOTE(sigg @ Oct 21 2010, 09:01 PM) with this price, this is far too much, not to say there arent many other tablets out there, Apple has the rights to do so because they know where they stand in the market, their price is based on the brand identity. flash is important for me, it's quite frustrating when you cannot stream flash based video when using mobile phone or whatever device that doesn't support flash.Samsung, however unfortunately stands at another corner, with this price, if the Playbook comes out with a lower price, say 1.9k this galaxy tab will not be a hit. If HTC comes into play, then i have to say sorry to samsung. But all in all, the price is a joke.... 2.7k???? come on.... where the hell are u aiming at??? how many people will fork out another 2.7k???? 2.7k is some people's total montlhy salary.... with this price, il wait for the playbook, anyway this is certainly like an ipad, calls and whatso ever..... I dont understand... why price it at this price??? Multitask??? that feature is not Android alone anymore... Calls??? with a 3g simcard or a mifi, anything is possible... Webbrowsing with flash????... Hmmm, lets take a step back and ask ourselves, do we really utilize it?? or is this just an eye candy??? after all, with multitask, and since the focus is on multitask so badly? whats wrong with switching inbetwen browsers and the youtube player... Screen sensitivity technology... I dont like to admit it, but Apple does a fine job at it, which is why im frowning at my desire.... If we all just take a step back, do we need a tablet?? I didnt buy that big ipod touch/ipad because i found it cool, but of certainly no use. But, the deal breaker is the OS who gets the deal on bringing in the full version of Microsoft Office. And lets face it, Microsoft aint dumb enuf to let it get ported to another os since they realize its their key selling feature... of windows phone 7. Everyone talks about functionality, so, how much advantage would i get for paying 2.7k??? other than a bigger screen, which I STILL HAVE TO HOLD AND PROTECT IT, JUST LIKE A LAPTOP, AS IT IS VUNERABLE TO SCRATCHES EASLIY WITH ITS NICE big display... Hmm, i get, nothing??? not all videos are on youtube and some important websites using flash, it's quite handy when my friend wants to show his company's website which incorporates flash and he cannot open it using his iphone4 browser and i can offer my android phone to open the website This post has been edited by faizalmzain: Oct 22 2010, 12:03 PM |

QUOTE(mengsuan @ Oct 22 2010, 11:55 AM) Im offended with ur post. I will find my way to Lowyat forum owners, and I will get this issue explained face to face.Dont think ur a moderator you can just simply troll me. A plus would also be taking away ur tag. You dont know whats the meaning of Troll, you do not simply use it. And, I am voicing out my opinion in Samsung Galaxy Tab, which are all facts, in the right sub forum. I challenge you to bring this up to other moderators and see whether I am trolling. QUOTE(tonixe @ Oct 22 2010, 12:22 PM) On top is what is defined as Trolling. Please screenshot this as reference for your statement.BTW, I feel that the price wars should bring down the price of this Galaxy Tab really soon, with Hp, Blackberry, and the rest coming in rreal soon, plus other android tablets such as ones manufactured by Acer This post has been edited by sigg: Oct 22 2010, 01:26 PM |
