Sony not gonna release video light for NEX ka? sad.gif

p/s: i just realised i can't really use BULB mode in my NEX-3. no remote nor shutter release cable laugh.gif

and it's hard to use long shutter too, need to set timer or gamble on pressing the shutter sad.gif
*
u can mod DIY one.. use a rubber band and lego brick for holding the shutter in place.. utilizing the 2 second timer..

p/s: i just realized my hiccup, how are you going to un-trigger the shutter without making the camera shake? @_@ dang.. back to the drawing board again

QUOTE(clivengu @ Sep 22 2010, 03:40 PM)
Finally yesterday I get to try A33. I think my comment will be mostly similar with those who have tried it:

1. First impression.. WOW smaller than expectation (eventhough i heard of this many time oredi).. but the grip should b quite comfortable (hard to really feel it because of the stupid big cable thing attached below the camera in sonystyle)
2. my finger has a bit problem searching for the front Scroll.. basically need to adjust my holding position in order to reach the scroll..
3.  control works fine for me.. easy access to important setting Like WB n ISO.
4.  Liveview = cool...maybe I have not really tried out the A550 liveview so this seems to be super cool & new for me.. hehe
5. electronic Viewfinder= First when I look into it, I find it very uncomfortable.. hard to immediately get use to it... when pointing to my friend's face.. it has a weird "red" to it... it just feel very digital..but amazing thing is whatever the liveview lcd can do, the EVF can do it.. Play back etc...WB & all settings. Again... because i so used to OVF it takes a while to get comfortable... But i bet most who bought this camera will rely on the LCD most of the time.
6. Focusing speed is amazing.. test it on walking people and moving my fingers in front of the camera.
7. Couldnt Test the VIDEO.. why cant sony just put a Memory card in it. After all its strong point is VIDEO for this camera
8. I hate the ISO setting Jumping from 800 to 1600 directly (same like my old A100) but nevertheless , Iso 1600 is completely usable.
9. This one I am not too certain.. But i Find focusing a little bit difficult when comes to low contrast object.....example shooting a pea on the table.. the center focusing is aiming quite close at middle of the green pea.. is difficult to focus.. I have to move the focus point to the edge of the peas to get the focus "beep". I believe my A700 can easily handle that.

Will I buy this?? I still not sure...I have to research more about video because this will be a camera which i like to explore on its video capability. The different Battery(heard is weak on A33/55) & memory card compare to my A700 also a thing that hold me back from buying. A quick question: is it only advisable to shoot video using the SSM lens(with autofocus)? so that the focusing transition will not be so erupt ?
*
clive, u are used to A7-series above model, the setting inside are all for seasonal shooter (ppl who know how to use thier camera in every inch of the menu)... A33/55 is still consider a enchanced entry, where menu selection are base for new people. imagine u have 1/3step for iso in A33... i bet my uncle who just brought the A33 will be damn confused.

zstan: dont get confused. when it mention that has 1/3stop lost of light, it doesnt mean that 30% goes to reflection(or reflection is only 30% light).... they NEVER mention that reflected angle is how many % of light, from my knowlegde, it could be 100% reflect up, because its reflect, not pass through.

the only pass through is the 2nd mirror into the prism, where it will have lost of 30% light.

evilhumor design may have better because the pass through is into the AF module, and the eye gets the 100% reflection. but do u still wan tiny OVF like A300/550? (penta mirror?)

Added on September 22, 2010, 5:35 pmfor those who celebrate mid autumn fest, wish u guys happy mooncake festival and prepare to shoot moon tonight wor.

signither: You might want one of those new-color NEX-5 bodies LOL.

Also, the video lights are going to be a lot bigger and massively imbalance the camera. Actually there are side-mounted video lights which fit on a flash bracket. That might be a practical idea!

clivengu: You can ask the staff to put in a memory card (or you bring your own.) And the ISO full stops have always been like that on 5-series Alphas and below.

Probably because the A33 doesn't have a wider F2.8 AF point, which catches what is outside the square box in the A700. The F2.8 sensor is bigger in diameter. And yes, SSM is perfect for video on this.

lwliam: Simple!

1) put camera on tripod
2) put black card in front of lens (maybe using Cokin holder)
3) put lego brick on and hold it with rubber band
4) remove black card
5) put black card back on
6) remove rubber band and lego brick

cokin, unless you got a 49mm convertor, coz its NEX we're talking about here.. but you'll still be touching the camera before the card entirely closes the scene. just slapping on a black card at the front element of the lens will do...
